Tired, Lucy, but then I was recovering from my little op. and the
flight back from Denver. But it was worth it for the exposure.
And did you ever expect to be the first to reach the number
when you first registered?
Yes, I always saw 400 posts as an achievable goal. As opposed to
having a life. Or a toaster.
What do you think of the boards?
Where else could I have become a legend in my own loaf-time?
Who do you think is the cheekiest of the fellow posters and why?

I polish it daily and I never see the sun. The piles of piffle have
covered my windows. When the doors get blocked, I will have
to survive on the birds that fall down the chimney.

While we're slapping James Whitehead on the back for verbal incontinence, (*checks own post count and swiftly moves on*) it bears stating that he has long provided some of the most erudite and well-expressed content on this board, notably (but far from exclusively) on the subjects of music and cinema.
It's a blessing that he hasn't yet found anything more interesting to do than post here.

The toaster was an imagined prize. 400 seems a modest enough post-count these days, though those were the days when a sluggish dial-up connection was charged at minute-by-minute local-call rates. I must have faced some bills! Reviewing early threads, it is easy to spot how many were drawn from chapters in The Unexplained part-work. As the proud owner of a complete set, I could imagine I knew all about the world of the mysterious. The internet was a long time living-up to the hype. Now that Unsolved Mysteries unravel in minutes, we tend to be a lot more sceptical. We might find ourselves wishing there were more haunted corners to harbour our dreams.
