I have, tucked away in my purse, a rather careworn tiny card with a palm-reading fortune printed on it. It came from a vintage 'palm reading' fair machine at Wookey Hole in 1996, the thing purported to read one's fortune while electrically-driven smooth metal rods slowly rose and fell beneath an outstretched hand. Something a bit like this!
