I'll be in New Orleans, LA this weekend and I was planning on taking one of the Haunted History Ghost Tours, just for fun. http://www.hauntedhistorytours.com
I was wondering if anyone else had been on one of these tours and if so would you reccomend it?

Ghost tours

I can't actually comment on that ghost tour but I have read about the tours of the cemetaries and they are supposed to be the only safe way to see the cities of the dead because of the muggers who hang out there. I also remember that there was an article in Fate magazine about a sculptor of Macabre statues who has a shop/museum in the city. I'll get back to you with details.

A very old thread, but I went on a haunted history tour in New Orleans about 5 years ago. I found the tour guide very knowledgeable about the local history as well as the ghostly aspects. She spoke of the history of the Lalaurie house as well as the yellow fever outbreak in the 1800's. She was a very good storyteller.

The last time I was in NO, there were groups advertising ghost hunts. For 100 dollars, you too can wave a B field meter and be scared of an occasional creak. Avoid.

The tours offered at the time I went were not ghost hunting, they were walking tours throughout the French Quarter. I think it might have cost me $20 US, but don't remember.
