Waitomo's dancing pig, Don Rash, has gone missing just days before he was due to record a television advertisement.
Agricultural showman Billy Black, who recently demonstrated Don Rash's talents, including a Michael Jackson-style moonwalk, said the six-month-old kunekune pig went missing from his Otorohanga property on Saturday.
Mr Black said Don Rash was due to record a car commercial for Korean company Sanyong Mercedes in nine days.
The pig had never strayed from home before, he said.
"We've looked all over town now. It's a bit strange."
Police had been alerted and the family had delivered leaflets in the town hoping it would jog someone's memory.
