I'm trying to pinpoint the location of the "Valley of Death," as featured in Fortean Times a few years ago and in various places on the web (ex. http://www.esolibris.com/articles/ufo/ufo_siberia_01.php), using Google Earth.
I've found the Viliuy River, but the more specific tributary, the Olguidakh, is eluding me. It doesn't help that Google Earth doesn't seem to provide river names.
Does anyone know the exact location of the Olguidakh, or perhaps some sort of plug-in for Google Earth that shows the names of rivers?

Google Maps does show a place named Olguydakh (Anglicized spelling).

The URL to the map location is:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&lr=&s ... 81531&z=10

It's located circa 40 - 50 km north / northeast from Vilyuyskoye (the lake system from which the Vilyuy River progresses).

I found another reference that gives coordinates. As you can see from the listing, it's not clear whether this location is supposed to be a 'place' (e.g., village site) or possibly a stream.
