Strange Falls & Rains Of Objects & Substances

A piece of ground equipment came off a flying helicopter and crashed through an Illinois home's roof and ceiling.
Wheel dropped by helicopter crashes through roof of Illinois home

An Illinois family said they returned home to find a wheel that had been dropped by a helicopter in midair crashed through the roof of their home.

Linda Taylor-Whitt said she and her family had just returned to their Lynwood home from eating out Saturday evening when her daughter went upstairs to use the bathroom and found the wheel had crashed through the roof and was lodged in the ceiling. ...

Taylor-Whitt contacted the police, who in turn called the local fire chief to come take a look at the unusual scene.

"And they couldn't believe what they were seeing and he was like, 'I've never in my life seen this.' He said, 'I've been a fireman for 30 or 40 some years,'" she told WLS-TV.

Taylor-Whitt said she received a call Monday from the owners of SummerSkyz, Inc., a flight school that operates a helicopter at the nearly Lansing airport.

"They were taking responsibility for it, and whatever needs to be done they would take care of it," Taylor-Whitt said.

The owners told her the wheel was from a piece of machinery used to move helicopters between airport hangers and had somehow stayed attached to the aerial vehicle before falling off above her home.

I suppose the only "evacuation" occurring in this incident may have involved the bowels of the two witnesses on the ground.
Evacuation slide falls from jet, lands in yard; no one hurt

Authorities say no one was hurt when an evacuation slide fell from a jetliner into the yard of a suburban Boston home.

A Delta Air Lines spokeswoman tells the Boston Herald that the uninflated slide fell from a flight from Paris to Boston around noon Sunday.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the pilot reported a loud noise as the plane approached Logan Airport and landed safely.

Police in Milton, south of Boston, alerted the agency that the slide had been found in a resident’s yard.

Wenhan Huang tells The Patriot Ledger he was doing yard work when the slide took out several branches of his Japanese maple.

His neighbor, Stephanie Leguia, was feet from where it fell and fears it could have killed someone.

This could (should) also go in a Hoaxes thread... VFX artist records eggplants falling from the skies! Seen it posted as "OMG THIS JUST HAPPENED" a few times already.

Followup :

Iranian police have arrested five people over a prank video that shows aubergines falling from the sky in front of a Tehran landmark, state news agency Irna said on Monday.

“A video showing eggplants raining down in the capital was published yesterday on social media, and the police immediately identified and arrested those behind it,” Irna quoted a Tehran police official as saying.

“They claimed they were conducting research in special effects when one of these clips was accidentally posted on social media,” Ali Zolghadr said.

The five had “emphasised that they belong to no specific group or movement”, he added.

Irna did not specify what offence the arrested men were accused of perpetrating.

Not that I remember, but you could give it a go if you have the time? Or recommend someone who could?
I don't have the resources to do that story right now. But I find so many topics that don't have a solid writeup. Frustrating.

Phoenix couple find apparent airplane piece in back yard

An Arizona couple said they found a mysterious item in their back yard that appears to have fallen from a passing airplane.

Charlie and Jaclyn High said the white piece of metal, which appears to be a service door from an airplane lavatory, was found in their Phoenix back yard. ...

"The side that was all white was on the ground, and looked to me like a sign with zip ties on it or something," Charlie High told KPHO/KTVK. "Picked it up and flipped it over and saw some of the words and writing on it, and pretty immediately thought this fell from an airplane."

The couple said no one saw the item appear in their yard, but they believe it fell out of the sky Friday.

"I was very thankful my kids weren't outside, even my dogs," Jaclyn High said. "It missed my tortoise, but I'm glad it didn't hit a car that somebody was driving."

"I kind of looked around to see if there was anything else, like another piece, or something else other than that ...," she said.

The couple said their home is just a few miles from the Scottsdale Airport.

The Highs said they have contacted the Federal Aviation Administration in the hopes of solving the mystery.

The Meat Shower, 1876
This old story was new to me! Nowadays we could have used DNA analysis to get more information. I wonder if any samples were preserved?
Edit: A Google turns up just 7 hits, including a certain C. H. Fort Book of the Damned

This December 2014 Scientific American item attributes the Kentucky Meat Shower to vultures' projectile vomiting.

A friend of mine lives out near this way and kept me in the loop:

"Remember those reports in early February of unexplained “mystery droplets” falling from the sky in an east Las Vegas Neighborhood? These dark-colored droplets covered vehicles and home of at least one resident in the neighborhood. What was causing the “rain” to fall in this neighborhood? Was it toxic? Was it caused by air traffic or something else?"

On Thursday out in the car noticed light brown spots some with a small darker spot
in them, bird crap thinks I and tried washing it off with the wash wipe, still there
gave up.
Friday going out decided to wash these spots off car came up a treat but a lot of
these spots are still there a real bugger to remove.
Today Saturday when having a walk every car as this stuff on them but not along the
sea front or on things like wheelie bins or pavements, there's that much of it and
it's spread over a big area that I cant see it being even a flock of birds with windy poo's.
Could it be Sara sand mixed with a rain shower but why is it so selective? not much
of a mystery I suppose but at least a little odd.
Just had another go at getting it off it's on the windows and metal parts of the car
but not the plastic, maybe the metal gets hotter in the sun and bakes it on, next
doors 2 cars are a mess with it but it's difficult to get a photo that shows it as it is.
The spots are well spread out maybe a inch or two apart, I have not seen the like
that's for sure.
