Who is doing real parapsychological research these days, and have they had any research findings of note?

*I wouldn't count any ghost hunting society that thinks the "orb" phenomenon is real would count as real parapychologists...

Well...

I'm not sure its neccessarily what you were wanting but according to the (British) Society for Psychical Resarch the following universities are home to students conducting academic study:

Cambridge
Coventry
Edinburgh
Goldsmiths College (Uni London)
Hertfordshire
Kent
Liverpool Hope
Liverpool John Moores
Middlesex
Northampton
Sheffield
Wales

I refer you to this page: http://www.spr.ac.uk/resdir_NonUniUK.html

For the directory of non-university based research.

The Arthur Koestler Chair of Parapsyschology seems to be still going at Edinburgh University.

A bit here:
http://www.psy.ed.ac.uk/Research/Parapsychology/index.html

Publications from one of the people listed:

Watt, C., & Baker, I.S. (2002). Remote facilitation of attention focusing with psi-supportive versus psi-unsupportive experimenter suggestions. Journal of Parapsychology, 66, 151-168.

Wiseman, R., Watt, C., Stevens, P., Greening, E., & O’Keeffe, C. (accepted for publication) An investigation into alleged hauntings. British Journal of Psychology.

Edit. Sorry Yittian, I've just noticed you got in before me with Edinburgh.

Edinburgh have an odd online experiment:

On Freaky Fifi I got 6 out of 10 right!:)

But on the other test, I got sub-normal scores...:(

Still, interesting stuff. More academic kinda small stuff working with numbers rather than breakthrough kinds of parapsychology going on. I wonder why there haven't been more advances?

Hi Mr. R.I.N.G.-Have you visited here: http://www.seanharribance.com/scienart.html ? A Texas based outfit. The link has a list of recent articles published in academic journals. Some of which are reproduced in full. Pretty dry, but rigorous, serious research. regards-lopaka
