Not making any diagnoses here but mild epilepsy can cause symptoms like déjà vu, temporary confusion, sudden high emotions, passing 'strange' feelings and so on. It's at least as likely an explanation as environmental causes.

Although, to be honest, simply being human can cause all those things too...
