ANNOUNCEMENTS: Forum Changes (Functions; Policies; Etc.)

CHANGES MADE:
1) The display of Trophy Points beneath avatars has been discontinued.
2) The display of reaction scores ('Likes') in the same location has been discontinued.
3) The contents of CHAT and MAINSTREAM NEWS no longer appear in NEW POSTS searches--you'll have to go and look for these posts.
4) Posts made in CHAT and MAINSTREAM NEWS are no longer included in Message/Post Counts (this may not update immediately).

Edit:
5) Trophies have been deactivated.
6) The 'charts' that recorded the 'top' posters by messages/trophy points/scores etc. on the Members Page have been hidden.
7) CHAT and MAINSTREAM NEWS have been incorporated into a new sub-section named MEMBERS' LOUNGE, which is invisible to non-members or members who are not logged-in.
8) Our confessedly humble section on Charles Fort has been rightfully moved to the head of the page.

Further Edit:
9) The ability to 'react' to post has been limited to simply LIKE or LOVE.

Effective as of today, there have been structural and functional changes pertaining to the forum sections most closely related to non-Fortean content and discussions.

A new forum section entitled "Members' Lounge" has been implemented. This is a private / restricted area for members only.

The Members' Lounge is visible within the forum listings only to registered members who are logged in.

The Chat and Mainstream News Stories sub-forums have been moved into this restricted / private Members' Lounge area.

These two sub-forums are now inaccessible to non-member visitors, bots, and external search engines. They are still searchable by the forum's resident Search facility.

New posts within these two sub-forums are now excluded from being listed among the "What's New" results. This means that if you want to see what the latest casual / non-Fortean postings may be you'll have to go to (e.g.) Chat and look for yourself.

The Charles Fort sub-forum has been moved from its prior, relatively obscure, location within the "This Place" section to the top of the Fortean Overview section.

Certain threads concerning scientific or medical topics were left in Mainstream Science or Medical Forteana.
Certain threads concerning (e.g.) communication / precognition in dreams were left in Parapsychology.
