I've just watched the BBC news' headline report on Admiral Lord West's about turn on his declaration on the amount of time terrorist suspects can be detained.
In another example of piss-poor editorialism, they showed Lord West walking and then actually rewound the tape and speeded up the music.

I mean...how long can it be before we have the news accompanied by the Benny Hill theme?

Actually that could be construed as irreverence or tounge-in-cheek criticism although I'd agree that the News at 10's editorial style is a little too glitzy. I'm so disappointed they didn't afford the same treatment to monkey cloning, though - that could have been classic.
