Thanks for that Jimv1! Many of those Renaissance pictures are odd. Especially the image that shows the man in the background looking up at one, with the Virgin Mary in the foreground. There just isn't a good conventional explanation for that one. I am fond of the Stele of Naram Sin:

The glowing spheres are supposed to represent celestial divinities, and it looks like there was at least one more in the damaged area at the top. Everyone is looking up, a trumpet is being sounded, and the king is approaching them. Reminds me of the "celestial divinities" that I saw ;)
Cylinder seals positively overflow with this sort of thing. Sure they could be stars, but..
