I saw it only the once in a Channel 4 broadcast of the eighties. Lucky were those who taped that, since the versions available since on VHS and DVD have been rubbish. Now Criterion in the States and Eureka here are issuing a restored version:

Time we had the Passion of Joan of Arc here too! :D
 
If you like Nosferatu or The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari, that kind of thing, then Vampyr is a creepy must-see. If only for the burial alive scene. Stagy and weird, but oddly compelling, as they say.
