Y'know what we haven't had in a while? A good end-of-the-world, oh-my-god-we're-all-going-to-die prediction or ten. At the moment it always seems to be the scientists who are warning of doomsday, with the Armageddon-ists seemingly quiet (or the mainstream and not-so-mainstream media have got wise and seem to be ignoring them)

I remember hearing about a group called The Family who were holed up in Israel, waiting for the end in a cave or two, does anyone know what happened to them?!

http://www.abhota.info/ is a fun read for all armageddonists; according to them, the next scheduled date for The End of the World is October 4th.
There's also http://www.religioustolerance.org/end_wrl1.htm which is a page of current end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it predictions.
Couldn't find out much about 'The Family', except that in 1999 they were reported to be in India and looking forward to Doomsday in 2006.

If you're interested in real-life Armageddon scenarios - the end of oil, nuclear war, global warming etc. - then take a look at http://www.chiliasmchronicles.blogspot.com/.

Happy reading!

One of the American supermarket tabs is predicting that the End Times begin on September 11, 2005. Nothing to do with the Japanese Election, I am sure.

The stuff you mentioned will change the world, its not going to end it. I mean, I fail to understand how the fact that I wont have any oil to put in my car every morning will result in me, and everyone else's death.

The Yellowstone super volcano, on the other hand...

No oil will lead to war, which "could" result in your and a lot of peoples death .. HOWEVER a war will be difficult to "maintain" with no oil .. might be a good thing, a small , quick war use all the last reserves of fuel .. buy stocks in horses ..
