Fortean Traveller: Ggantija Temple complex covered already?

Hi there,

I'm travelling to Malta shortly and was considering taking some photos and quizzin the locals on the Ggantija Temple complex with an eye to submitting a piece to the Fortean Traveller. Then I began to wonder if this fascinating, easily accessible temple had been covered already?

I seem to recall an article about Maltese catacombs in the last few years, but haven't been able to find any articles specifically about Ggantija. Anyone know? Eds?

Cheers!

I think it may have been covered in an old issue of Third Stone magazine, but I could be wrong...

My sister and her family visited the sites this summer and were duly impressed.

Can't help you with them too much myself, I'm afraid. Except, it might be worth comtemplating the startling resemblances between the sites on Malta and sites in the far North of Scotland, on the Orkneys.

Particularily, Skara Brae:

As well as similiarities with carved designs from Malta and certain very early carvings from the Orkneys, also similiar to those at New Grange in Ireland:

Thanks for the links! Try googling "Malta atlantis -hotel" for some more Fortean fun.

I'll be checking the issues tonight, if I get the time between packing, to see if it's there - I just thought someone with a bigger brain than I might know. I'll take my dictaphone and take lots of photos regardless!

Cheers!

A 'Fortean Traveller' article on the sites could be long overdue! :)
