Man Says He Found Fried Mouse In His Chicken Lunch

A man in Kansas City, Mo., claims he found a fried mouse in a box of chicken he bought at a restaurant. Food inspectors from the corporate office plan to investigate.
"I went into Church's Chicken and bought an eight-piece mix," Charles Chivers said. "I left and got in the car and I was nibbling on the chicken, I reached back in the bag to get some salt -- it looked like there was a rat or rodent in the box."
Chivers said he went back to the restaurant to report it, and called police as well.
While he waited in the restaurant, other customers demanded their money back.
The restaurant's manager said he doesn't think the mouse came from inside his store, as all employees look at the chicken as they put it in boxes.
"I come in here every day and clean," employee Jeanie Martinez said. "I clean underneath everything and I've never seen anything like that. No mice. No nothing."
Everyone involved hopes the health department and investigators from the corporate office will determine exactly where the rodent came from and how it got in Chivers' lunch.
