Did search but couldn't find anything about this - but this ought to be good once it is released. Wanna bet it's a blurry, dodgy movie of, ah, "something":

" A video that purportedly shows a living, breathing space alien will be shown to the news media Friday in Denver.

Jeff Peckman, who is pushing a ballot initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver to prepare the city for close encounters of the alien kind, said the video is authentic and convinced him that aliens exist.

"As impressive as it is, it's still one tiny portion in the context of a vast amount of peripheral evidence," he said Wednesday. "It's really the final visual confirmation of what you already know to be true having seen all the other evidence."

When Peckman went before city officials this month to discuss his proposed ET initiative, he promised to show the video.

Peckman said the general public will have to wait to see it because it's being included in a documentary by Stan Romanek.

"No one will be allowed to film the segment with the extraterrestrial because there is an agreement in place limiting that kind of exposure during negotiations for the documentary," he said.

But people won't have to wait too long to see it for themselves.

"There is an open, public meeting in about a month in Colorado Springs," Peckman said. "We'll hope to do one in Denver at some point, and then in a few months, there will be the documentary that anybody can have, and it'll have the footage."

An instructor at the Colorado Film School in Denver scrutinized the video "very carefully" and determined it was authentic, Peckman said.

Peckman, 54, said the video was among the reasons he was "compelled" to launch the proposed ballot initiative, which has generated news as far as South Africa.

"It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera," he said. The alien is about 4 feet tall and can be seen blinking, Peckman said earlier this month.

In a statement, Peckman said "other related credible evidence" proving aliens exist will be shown at Friday's news conference, too.

In 2003, Peckman authored an off-beat ballot initiative that would have required the city to implement stress-reduction techniques. The "Safety Through Peace" initiative failed, but garnered 32 percent of the vote."

It's likely to be the "alien autopsy" fiasco all over again

Expert: Space alien tape no fake
May 29, 2008

"The instructor at the Colorado Film School who analyzed a video that purportedly shows a living space alien swears the footage is real.

"There is no doubt in my mind that (Stan Romanek, a Colorado native who has reported UFO sightings) did not post-produce this material. In other words, it's not a trick done in special effects," Jerry Hofmann, a professional film editor with more than 30 years of experience, said in a telephone interview this morning.

"I have equipment that will test to see if that shot was recorded originally on that tape, which it was," he said.

However, Hofmann said there's no way for him to know whether or not the little gray alien, which was videotaped peeping through a window, is the real thing.

But Hofmann thinks it is.

"The chances are that we are not alone," he said. "That's the conclusion I've come to.""

Film Of 'Living Alien' To Be Shown

Hi all, been away for a while. :) Saw this though and thought of here:

From BTYahoo! News:

Film Of 'Living Alien' To Be Shown

By Sky News SkyNews - Thursday, May 29 04:13 pm

A US campaigner has vowed to release a video which he says proves the existence of aliens.

Jeff Peckman, who claims the film features a living extraterrestrial, will show the footage to the media on Friday.

The 54-year-old is lobbying for a commission to be set up in Denver so the city can prepare for contact with alien life.

Mr Peckman promised to show the film to officials when he appeared before them earlier this month.

He told the Rocky Mountain News: "It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera."

Mr Peckman - who said the film convinced him that aliens exist and the city needed to act - said the creature is about 4ft tall and can be seen blinking.

"As impressive as it is, it's still one tiny portion in the context of a vast amount of peripheral evidence," he said.

"It's really the final visual confirmation of what you already know to be true having seen all the other evidence."

Mr Peckham added that other "related credible evidence" proving aliens exist will also be shown at at the news conference.

He said an instructor at the Colorado Film School in Denver has analysed the video "very carefully" and said it was authentic.

The general public will have to wait to see the footage as it is being included in a forthcoming documentary.

Appolagies if it's been posted else where on the board already.
Reminds me of that Stargate SG1 episode where the wealthy company owner calls a press conference to give the government a warning to come clean about aliens before he does, and states when he will be showing the evidance by.
Life imitating art?
Anyway, when I read down to 'Forthcomming documentary,' ie, dollar signs, I knew it must be a complete fake.
What are your views on it?

Stan Romanek runs his own website (which I haven't been able to check out yet) www.stanromanek.com - and claims his is the "most scientifically documented human/extraterrestrial encounter in the world".

Well, we'll see but with claims like that one does remain sceptical.

"It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera."
I'm convinced already.

Just because something’s not put in at post production doesn’t mean it’s not fake. A puppet alien head wouldn’t be that hard to build and filmed with the night vision or infrared settings, the image quality would be lower and help to hide inadequacies in its construction

Surprise, surprise.....video is a no show.

Video being saved for documentary
May 30 2008

"The Rocky Mountain News (thanks io9) reported yesterday that there's a guy in Denver who claims to have video of a living extraterrestrial, but he's not showing it because he wants to save it for his movie.

Jeff Peckman is the same guy who is attempting to set up an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver -- ostensibly to allow us to prepare for the inevitable encounter. If you read the ABC News article linked in the previous sentence, you'll see that Peckman even got a professor from Colorado Film School to "authenticate" the footage. That's right, a certified movie expert thinks this is the real thing.

(Amusingly, the quote ABC news gets from Prof. Jerry Hoffman is somewhat more equivocal: "If this was faked, it's the most elaborate fake I've ever seen," he said. "This is no 29-cent puppet." But, er, isn't every hot new UFO video the most elaborate one we've seen? If you were just showing spinning pie plates, it'd be hard to get much attention.)

As someone who's written about UFO hoaxes before, I find it very difficult to take anything like this seriously. If there were actual indisputable alien footage, it would be simultaneously the most incredible scientific discovery in history and the most explosive news story of all time. Scientists, reporters and governments the world over would be clamoring to analyze it. At that point, it seems unlikely that it would be within one UFO believer's power to keep it secret.

UPDATE: This is apparently a still from the video in question. It just so happens to portray the alien peering into someone's window. What could be more recognizably, uninspiredly E.T. than that?

It's guffaw-worthy that the reason he gives for sitting on this bombshell is that he's embroiled in movie talks: "No one will be allowed to film the segment with the extraterrestrial because there is an agreement in place limiting that kind of exposure during negotiations for the documentary," Peckman told the RMN.

Forget just putting it up online and letting everyone judge for themselves. everyone knows you can't make money on YouTube! Even with a real live alien that looks better than a 29-cent puppet."

Stop the press, folks - this is the final PROOF that the aliens are amongst us!!!

Either that or it's a kid n a Halloween costume. This wasn't shot on October 31 by any chance?

This is even lamer than the alien autopsy video - at least they put some effort into pulling our collective legs. And since even Nick Pope can't tell a gull from a saucer, I am not putting too much faith in so called expert opinion either...

Weirdly enough, I've actually seen the short video. It was online for a few hours on friday afternoon, but now it is no where to be found. I guess they pulled it offline so they can make money on it in a documentary.

I'll describe what I saw since the online photo isn't very clear and the video actually does show it better:
A dark window with a couple of lights shining through it in the background. Then the light in the middle of the window disappears as though something is approaching and blocking it out. A large head appears, standard gray alien type with big eyes and all, peeking in. The large eyes blink, the head twists as though looking into the room, then moves to the right, blocking the second light as it moves out of sight.

My thoughts? It gave me no chills, I felt no 'ring of truth' feelings while watching it. Is it real? I suppose anything can happen, but I'm not all that impressed. Don't worry--I'm sure you'll all be able to see it in the coming months.

Is there anywhere an explanation as to why there was a working camera pointing at a window looking out onto complete darkness at that particular time?

.. took the words right out of my mouth. Can also be applied to "why were you photographing the corner of your lounge?" and "The tops of telegraph poles and non-descript clouds aren't that photogenic, either."

I did wonder if it had maybe been produced to supply material for the growing market in window-porn. You know –

“Hi handsome, my name's Stacy. I’m a sash, and I’m double hung baby, with fitch fastening...nooooo mullions. Anyway, this sexy see-through bitch is dripping with windowlene and can’t wait for you to slide me open and squeegee me stupid – oh yeah, I can hear my sash weights knockin’ in their pockets already.

And honey...look...I ain’t wearing blinds.”

Well...it’s the only explanation I can come up with.

Okay, so. Maybe I need to get out more - those all night DIY channels are feckin' with my head man.

Well I'm convinced. It must be an alien - everybody knows that!

I just saw the video on youtube. That certainly was nothing that couldn´t be done with a fancy hand puppet.

Yeah, I just came to the same conclusion - sorry folks - there is a Larry King interview where they show that video - while Larry is complaining that we are NOT being shown the video - WTF???

At the same time, Stan Romanek is just full of "uhms" and arghs" when asked why we can't see it, so - what gives:

This is a link to the Lary King video -
I hope that one at least is real?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYn4hdz9 ... re=related

PS: Re-looked at Larry King - says Re-Enactment on the top left of the screen - so it's not "fake" but, yeah, whatever, I am going to bed...

Awww...it's a little waif alien, and he's knocking to come in - lookit the white moving thing to his left, our right. Hand knocking on the window, for sure.

When the video was first described, I thought "Peeping Tom ET - gross, and what makes him think he'll see anything he'll find hot?" But this is so sad. OBVIOUSLY he's escaped from the local hybrid breeding facility and is looking for refuge! We must save him from exploitation!

PeniG - I'll be watching for your sihouetted form pedalling your bike across the moon..........

1. The video we’ve seen on Youtube so far (often labelled as ”real”) is not the original. Here’s the story: When some kind of expert begun to be quoted as saying it would be very hard to hoax, Rocky Mountain Paranormal quickly threw together a video of their own for under $100 to demonstrate that it wasn’t so hard ... and that’s the one we’ve been seeing.

2. Why was the camera set up to film the window? Well, the ”official” explanation is that he had seen an alien peek through that window before and wanted to catch it on camera ...

Err yes, I think we realized that when we saw the alien popping his head around the corner inside the house!

Generally, I tend to skip over most UFO related material as I find myself so increasingly sceptical due to hoaxing and such. So I was not at all familiar with the Romanek case - even though he's apparently been speaking about his experiences since 2000 or so.

However, since the significant amount of press surrounding this alien footage, I'd been passively following this story for a couple of days but have only just realised I used to know Stanley Romanek!

I worked with his wife (dunno if she's still his wife) about 17 years ago or so and used to spend time hanging out with them having bar-b-ques and discussing Fortean stuff (I loaned Stan - who went by an old childhood nickname back then, we NEVER called him Stan - several of my back issues of Fortean Times. Never got 'em back from him either :( ). We also we all fans of the corny "Sightings" paranormal show that used to air on the FOX channel and would often watch that together on Friday nights. He was a great guy and didn't seem at at all kooky back then.

I just googled the hell out of him to be sure it really was him, and it is. He claims to have been having a lot of odd stuff happening to him over the years related to the whole UFO/alien abduction thing, which is one of those subjects I'm usually a bit  about. But like I said, he wasn't at all nutty seeming back in those days, so in this case I can't really dismiss what he says.

As far as the video goes though, I just don't know what to think. I've got some serious reservations about what I've seen of the footage so far, but at least I've had my wig flipped by seeing someone I used to know on the Larry King show (and not for the usual naughty reasons people I know get on TV  )!

Sorry, I don’t get it ... I haven’t seen that video. Where is that?

(Why am I asking? Do I even want to watch that?)
