What's the psychology behind thinking "They were twins, one had fallen in love at the funeral but the guy gave his number out to the wrong twin. Depressed at the thought of dying a spinster, her mother's death and finding her twin had a date with the guy she met at the funeral, she decided to "off" her own twin. Then take her place with Mister Right."

umm you might wanna try therapy?

edit: I just realized you said "get help" doesn't count. Maybe a loooong vacation?

The lay-person would dearly love to hear that the medical profession could "spot" dangerous psychopaths using a simple test. While this question was put to serial killers and, therefore, might give an insight into their mental processes, this shouldn't be used as a glib claim that serial killers and psychopaths can be "detected".

This aside, it's an interesting riddle. This reminds me of the old question:

"If you woke to find your house on fire, and you aren't able to stop it, what single thing would you take from the burning building?"

My answer? Myself!

Someone at work said this:

A statement. Obviously not a bank statement, although that may be required
to prove your available funds to the hotel you're undoubtedly going to be
living in for at least a couple of nights. Unless you take your credit card as
the single item; but then you wouldn't have the statement and nobody would
know why the house burned in the first place. Here's a question - if you didn't
wake up, and nobody else saw the fire, would the house actually burn? You
could pretend not to have woken up - perhaps sleepwalking around. In this
case, you could probably flout the rules and take everything out of the house,
then 'wake up' and still take the statement. Even the police would be happy,
although the firemen would still have to put the fire out. Maybe you could
ring them and tell them when you'd woken up that they can take their time,
maybe detouring via MacDonald's and fetching you a light snack after all
your exertion moving everything out of the house. Or you could just not wake
up at all and sleep forever, only waking up when enough stray cats had
started living in your house and you could score at least a 90% hit rate.

I thought she'd killed her mother and was slowly working her way through the family...

What does that say?

What about the man WAS actually the sister dressed up so to play a cruel practical joke and when the woman discoveres its her sister she kills him in a muderous fit of rage...

Uh oh... not the men... not the white coat... no. no. noooooo!

Or perhaps he had killed her sister and was wearing her skin because he felt it was the only real way to show his love for her because true love only comes from blood...?

That's what I thought!! Although I thought that instead of practical joke it was a strange lesbian incest trick.

ha, I would take the fire out of the house.

Oh lord, not another one...

Eeek, I got it correct!

Although, to be fair, I did answer - "'cos she's a nutter and hopes the guy will turn up at her sister's funeral."
