Recent Saucer Photo In Gloucestershire Paper

TRIO IN CLOSE ENCOUNTER OF THE BLURRED KIND.....

Three footballers captured this amazing picture of what they say is a UFO.

The footballers - who have added to the sense of mystery by declining to give their full names to The Citizen - were playing in Randwick Park at 6.15pm on Thursday, April 17, when their strange encounter took place.

In a letter sent to The Citizen with a disc containg the images, the footballers write: "A friend of ours was testing out a camera he had recently purchased and was able to capture these extraordinary images, and we were wondering if anyone else witnessed this.

"From the images included, one can clearly see the object change orientation and then disappear into the horizon.

"This process occurred within a few seconds."

What made their sighting particularly bizarre was that the UFO made no sound and moved at "an incredible speed."

Attached is a half-sized scan of a photocopy of the original newspaper which was itself reduced in size by 71%. I've added the saucer from the original scan in the red square. The UFO was clearer than it is here, which was a shiny, grey hubcap.

Make of it what you will, the phrases "declining to give their full names" and "a disc containg the images" should ring alarm bells, I suppose.

If it looked like a hubcap, that is what it probably was.
