Saddam Starred in Gay Porn Films!

Thursday April 10, 2003

KUWAIT CITY -- Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has been caught with his pants down -- literally. A shocking 1968 porn film has surfaced, in which the flamboyant strongman appears performing raunchy homosexual acts!

The image quality of the grainy 16mm film, uncovered by the Kuwaiti secret police, is poor -- but experts who've taken a close look at the hairy-chested actor are "100 percent certain" it is a younger, trimmer Saddam.

"There is no doubt in my mind that this is Saddam -- there's no mistaking those eyes and that distinctive nose," declares Hussein biographer Sadiq al-Sabah of Kuwait, who's seen the eye-popping footage first-hand.

"It may be hard to believe that a man who now leads one of the most powerful nations in the Middle East once acted in blue movies, but to anyone familiar with how reckless and sexually promiscuous Saddam was in his youth, this will come as no surprise. It's also a known fact that the young, desperate soldier did anything for money.

"Saddam appeared in as many as 85 of these films under a variety of stage names, most frequently Omar Studdif," reveals the researcher.

Still photographs from the sizzling XXX-rated film, La'iba al-Waladaani (The Two Boys Played), were leaked to a Kuwait news magazine after authorities found it amid a stash of illicit porn in the vault of a recently deceased sheik.

Release of the pictures has resulted in howls of protest from Baghdad.

"President Hussein is the manliest of men. He would never behave in such a repugnant manner," says an Iraqi spokesman. "This is CIA propaganda."

But rumors that Saddam appeared in gay porn films in his younger days have dogged him for decades and almost torpedoed his political career when he was a rising star in the ruling Baath Socialist party.

"He was able to squelch the rumors in the past, but now it looks like the Kuwaitis have found the smoking gun," says a State Department source.

Al-Sabah claims that Saddam, then a struggling law student, acted in porn to make ends meet -- and because he was addicted to gay sex.

In the newly uncovered 86-minute prison flick, Saddam, then just 34, plays a naive young peasant who is wrongly convicted and sent to jail. He is initiated into homosexuality by a series of older and more experienced cons.

"Saddam's acting in the picture is actually quite good," al-Sabah notes. "One scene, in which he buries his face in a pillow and cries, is so touching you almost can forget you're watching a low-budget sexploitation film." -- By MIKE FOSTER

...U.S. soldiers, meanwhile, went through Oday Hussein's palace in Baghdad to see what Saddam's son left behind when he apparently fled. They found lots of liquor, electronics, pornography, Cuban cigars and "one of the weirder things" pictures of President Bush's twin daughters in one of Oday's gymnasiums, Capt. Ed Ballanco said.

"We took the pictures down, though," Ballanco said. "Just to, kind of, protect our protect our president here."

I wonder if this will appear on 'Before They Were Famous'...? ;)

The second quote - no prob believing that.

The first? Yeah right ..

That is surely just propaganda?!

I love the bit-
Al-Sabah claims that Saddam, then a struggling law student, acted in porn to make ends meet -- and because he was addicted to gay sex.

:D

If you can't trust the Kuwaiti Secret Police, who can you trust? After all, it's not like they have an agenda to discredit Saddam, is it?

Seriously, this rumour sounds like it was designed to discredit Saddam with the rest of the Arab world. After all, if he had been appearing in straight porn, they might have maintained some respect for him. Portraying him as a gay-porn star, however, will get the Fundamentalists pissed at him. (Then again, many of them were. Osama Bin Laden once called him a great Satan, on a par with the US.)

Then again, Dubya gets on OK with the fundamentalists in the US despite his past of taking coke, dancing about on tables naked, and so forth. And we know that is true.

Augh, this is so annoying. You guys just fell for another Weekly World News article. Yahoo has got to stop doing that.

I would like to point out that I didn't fall for the story as such. I may have been a little ready to believe that the Kuwaiti authorities might make up such an allegation against Saddam, but I didn't actually think the film was genuine.

Of course, if it did turn out to be genuine, I might have looked silly. May still do, if it turns out that someone actually managed to con the Weekly World News into publishing a real story.

Which guys? Don't think any of us fell for it, Piscez :). That said, this is a forum full of people who question things - an awful lot of people don't, however...

Yeah, yahoo put them in the entertainment section but I wish they'd stop doing that with WWN stories. It's a pretty lazy job to just rewrite another paper every day, and extremely pointless when it's a blatant work of fiction.

Why not go the full hog and go... "A man was revealed to be a triple murderer today. Richard Hillman, of Coronation Street, Wetherfield, Greater Manchester... (etc)".

It was probably one of his stunt doubles . . .:p

I know no one fell for it outright, its just the whole WNN on Yahoo thing just realllllly annoys me. Online news is bad enough, without completely made up stuff floating around.

An interesting point on Arabic culture, which makes these claims believable and in context.

Due to the prerequisit of sufficient funds to pay a bride's dowrie, most Arab men cannot afford to marry until their middle ages. Since sex before marrige is downright illegal, most sexually frustrated arabian men resort to homosexuality to stave off their sexual cravings.

So even, or especially, as a student Saddam Hussain would be unable to find sexual companionship with a woman and may have, like millions of arab men before him, resorted to intercourse with other arab men.

Thus what sounds ludicrously false to our western ears is utterly believeable in the middle east...

Ok, I could understand that happening in some occasions, Niles, but most occasions? :hmph: And isn't homosexuality an equal taboo in Arabic culture as sex before marriage?

 Yes indeed, my bad brassica buddy, as almost as big a taboo as sex before marriage is here in the west. Pure homosexuality is deffinately a :no-no: (hence Saddam's "addiction") but is tolerated in otherwise hetrosexual men during puberty and for a while after...
