Truly bizarre statement from former Secretary of Defense, William Cohen:

"There are some reports, for example, that some countries have been trying to construct something like an Ebola Virus, and that would be a very dangerous phenomenon, to say the least. Alvin Toeffler has written about this in terms of some scientists in their laboratories trying to devise certain types of pathogens that would be ethnic specific so that they could just eliminate certain ethnic groups and races; and others are designing some sort of engineering, some sort of insects that can destroy specific crops. Others are engaging even in an eco- type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.

So, do you get the impression of someone's who's hands are so sweaty, their beginning to lose their grip?
 
or just a clever atempt at giving a statement

its point being that either the threat is realy and countermeasures are in place

or the intended recipient is told that they are quite aware of all that may happen

in the end it portrayes a position of power..................

Not that, the guy appears to have a direct line to Alvin Toffler (renowned 70's futuroligist and Jerry Pournelle (renowned SF writer and Republican Party advisor), and seems to believe every word?

Well, weather control isn't really the right term. It was designed to cause horrendous storms (lightning, tornadoes) in the target area. Great for disrupting communications, tank columns, even crops.

The rumours about 'HAARP' and its Russian equivalents abound!

Can you imagine the amount of power and equipment something like that would require, given present day (non-'Star Trek' technology)?

How vulnerable a target would that be, to the kind of fire power and delivery (almost 'Star Trek'), the US commands?

There are HAARP and Tesla 'Death Ray' threads about such things. ;)
 
This can be tied into Rendlesham - accoring to the book "Left at East Gate", (Larry Warren's "I was there" tome), there was a Wilhelm Reich type Cloudbuster at Woodbridge (or poss Greenham Common - can't remember TBH), but Warren asserts that it was this machine that caused the '87 hurricane. He describes it as a big gun-like thing with two long cables running from the back and to a big pit.

He makes lots of claims therein, mind you: huge underground complex, weird machines glimpsed...
 
It is almost as though this guy Cohen is trying to tie two different threads together- one very credible and worrying- the genetically engineered disease-
with one which is complete bollix
the electromagnetic volcano/earthquake.


As Martin Rees pointed out, it would be very cheap to create a new disease- why expend millions of terawatts causing earthquakes?

Oh, I only brought it up becasue it seems like the same story in a new package, not because it was feasible :p
