Single-Purpose Shops

In Cork, Ireland there is a shop selling just hammocks. In Hawaii that might work but in the irish climate it seems ambitious. They have been going for years though.

Regarding the shop selling surgical instruments, it's worth noting that it was all just laying around like tools in a hardware shop. No attempts at keeping anything sterile.

I think that in the early 80s, there was a shop in Glasgow which only sold envelopes. Of every shape, size and colour. It was, for those who know the area, in a now-demolished building round about Holm Street or Cadogan Street, and was near another shop which sold only candles (long before Yankee Candle and their lovely smells- when candles were functional items rather than gifts or ornaments).

I do remember in Germany being surprised by seeing a pet shop that was open till midnight. That seemed excessive.
It would be handy for buying pet food if you worked inconvenient hours.
