A semi-naked man who allegedly attacked his estranged wife with a 'small tool' was dragged along on the roof of a car when she sped off in it.
Police in Pennsylvania say Michael Becker had fallen off the roof of the VW Jetta in an effort to stop Lori Ann Becker from stealing it.
He then held her down on the floor and struck her on the thigh 17 times with a small tool dangling from the rearview mirror.
Mr Becker, 25, told police he had to cling onto the roof rack in just socks and a T-shirt when his estranged 20-year-old wife drove off.
Lori Ann Becker and Michael Becker, were arrested after she crashed into a concrete barrier, reports the News Journal.
Lori Ann Becker was charged with attempt to commit homicide, simple and aggravated assault, reckless endangering, harassment and stalking, disorderly conduct, drunken driving, driving without a licence, careless and reckless driving, and accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property.
Police charged Michael Becker with simple and aggravated assault, reckless endangering, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
