any self respecting fascist dictatorship needs an anarchist terrorist snapping at its heels... I humbly submt myself for that role... I'll get my V for Vendetta costume out

You made some fair points in your post, particularly on the difficulty of defining non-essential goods. As for PCs and this board not being necessary, I would argue that free and open personal communication is essential and that the internet facilitates this very well and has opened new avenues for individuals, although so far this is mainly confined to the developed world.Oh, this is rich...

Apparently if no one's in charge, it makes people nervous and one of them will rear up and take command in the most ruthless way they can. Of course this programme proved no such thing, but an interesting conclusion none the less IMO.
The problem with saying this or that about anarchism is that it never has a chance to prove itself, before fascists or Stalinists come in and kill everyone.beakboo said:The husband watched "The Experiment" on BBC 2 this week, and the conclusion was: Anarchism leads to fascism. The secret is teaching them to do the same for another as you have done for them.

I've always found the problem is crafting one that can survive all the other meme's long enough to to spread and become a fully fledged memetic virus (like christianity). Most memes have an internal logic which does not stand up to examination under another memetic system. In short unless your meme supports, or is supported by, the existing memes to which it exposed it will fail to propagate sufficently to be effective.
This is by the by of course since my orginal question was not which method you would use, but what message. In short, what would you teach to make the world a better place?
