But I don't think the bread itself is so disastrous - it's just that it's too tempting to make a sandwich when the 'nibbles' strike! And then another sandwich.... :(

Like most boozers, I find I get peckish after a few drinks

- my answer is not to keep anything nibblish in the house. If it's too much trouble to make a tasty snack, I don't bother.
 
I had to resort to not keeping anything nibblish in the house a well. And I'm stopping buying bread, because it's too tempting to fill up on toast. I've some rice crackers, which have the advantage of not being something you'd fill up on as they're bit like eating expanded polystyrene packing material....
