The Irish Forteans may be familiar with some of this already.
At the end of my estate we have the shell of an old schoolhouse - the Porterstown Schoolhouse - that has stood derelict since the late 1950's. It is an intriguing building with a suitably intriguing history, and is reputed to be haunted.
Just over a week ago, a friend and her children came to stay with us, and a few days later the two older boys went exploring. They tried to gain access to the schoolhouse (which has recently been fenced off) but were unsuccessful. When they got back to the house though, one of the boys said they had seen a man wearing a cloak in the upstairs window of the building.
The interesting thing about this is that the interior floors of this building have all but collapsed, and there are only beams up there now.
So, did they see the ghost that is reputed to haunt the school?
