There's a rather amazing article on BBC Traveller about the burrows dug by giant sloths. There are more than 1500 of them identified so far. They are about 2 meters high, large enough to walk through comfortably, and were carved through *solid rock* - not silt or soil - by giant sloths many millennia ago. The longest is 340 meters long.
I find that just mind blowing.
