Saw this mentioned on the Garden of Eden episode of In Search Of, and I wasn't aware that there was a supposed tomb of Eve:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomb_of_Eve

In Search Of indicated the tomb had been destroyed, but the Wikipedia article indicates it was covered in concrete, implying that there may still be something of it there.

Did archaeologists ever excavate the tomb? Was their a body in it?

According to the below, it doesn't look like it was ever proprely investigated. Religion gets in the way - again!

part of the problem of finding any conclusive evidence about the tomb of Eve in Saudi is in their manner of maintaining historic sites and monuments, where the strict Wahhabi doctrine forbids the maintenance of artefacts because this could lead to "shirk" - polytheism - associating any other figure with God. "Based on what they saw happening in other religions and with the Shiites, where a revered person is turned into a saint once dead, Wahhabism eliminated any chances of that happening by having unmarked graves," Ms Heard-Bey said. Tombs, objects and homes of venerated people - whether historic or religious - are destroyed because "they [Wahhabists] don't want anything to intrude between the relationship of the worshipper with God", she said. Sami Angawi, an architect and historian in Saudi Arabia who has been a long-standing critic of the lack of preservations of historic artefacts and monuments, agreed with Ms Heard-Bey. "Tombs are not preserved in Saudi Arabia and visiting graves is not encouraged as Wahhabists believe that they could lead to Bedaa [a frowned upon invention that undermines the orthodoxy of Islam] and eventually to shirk." Mr Angawi said "systematically", over the past 80 years, historic artefacts and sites have been cleared off because of the strict Wahhabi doctrine and for the sake of expansion for the pilgrims whose numbers are increasing each year. "Eve's tomb is now just a flat hole among a graveyard of unmarked tombs," he said. "It was left to deteriorate, and all we have left is the legend, which will live on and be passed on to the next generations," he said.

Adnan Al-Harthi, professor of civilization at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, said the scientific opinion on the issue of the tomb’s existence in Jeddah remains neutral. Al-Harthi said Ibn Jubair, an Arab geographer and traveler from the 6th century AH, said that, during his visit to Jeddah, he saw an old dome said to be the home of Eve. Ibn Battuta, another Arab traveler, also pointed to the presence of the dome during his journey to Jeddah in the 7th century AH.
Al-Harthi said scientific sources confirm that the habitat of Adam and Eve was Makkah, but there is no evidence that Eve was buried in Jeddah.
A number of historians and travelers told many stories indicating that the site of the tomb of Eve is in the same cemetery. Some sources even identified the dimensions of the tomb, and there are drawings of it in books.

In Judaism we believe Eve's tomb is in Hebron

Sri Lanka claims to have the tomb of both Adam and Eve:
Locals in Mannar, Sri Lanka, say that this is the grave of the first humans - Adam & Eve. I'll tell you the local story behind these graves. If you want to visit the tomb: Kappa Oli Dargah (Adam & Eve's Tomb) https://goo.gl/maps/vi2bs1ccpKUt6SuM7. Adam and Eve are believed to be the father & mother of all humans, according to Christians, Jews, and Muslims. And according to local Muslim traditions, this is their burial spot. The story goes that Adam and Eve were on their death beds when they requested their 2 children to put them in the same coffin and send it out to sea on a boat. On the coffin, they said to write, "Two dead bodies have been kept in. Do not open the coffin. A place to bury will be revealed in a dream." The coffins were said to have been spotted off the coast by a Christian village who prayed to God for it, but it didn't wash ashore. The Christians then went to the Muslims who also prayed and this time the coffin washed up onshore. After reading the words written in Arabic telling them not to open the coffin and to bury it in a place revealed in a dream, they left it alone till someone dreamt of a place with 3 limes on the floor. They looked around and eventually found the place. Apparently, the 40ft long one is Adam's, and the 38ft long grave is Eve's. It's said that the graves are this long to show that those buried are of a high caste. This is all said to have taken place around 800BC.

The Adam tomb (or his skull) is supposed to be in Golgotha as the Chapel of Adam:
Church of the Holy Sepulchre - On the ground floor, just underneath the Golgotha chapel, is the Chapel of Adam. According to tradition, Jesus was crucified over the place where Adam's skull was buried. According to some, the blood of Christ ran down the cross and through the rocks to fill Adam's skull. Through a window at the back of the 11th-century apse, the rock of Calvary can be seen with a crack traditionally held to be caused by the earthquake that followed Jesus's death; some scholars claim it is the result of quarrying against a natural flaw in the rock. Behind the Chapel of Adam is the Museum of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, which holds many relics, including a 12th-century crystal mitre alleged to have once held a fragment of the Holy Cross.
