"Tomville," City of Missing Children

Off topic, but I'd love to have a look at your lists.

Well, here's one: My Twenty Favorite Stories from Obi-Wan's UFO-Free Paranormal Pages (formerly ghosts.org). It's actually atypical, as I shy away from Internet stories -- but I've read tales from Obi-Wan's site since I first logged on to the Web, so these are all like old friends:

All these links are dead.

McAvennie raises an extremely interesting and worthwhile point.

Ancient ruins to one side, are there any ghost cities?

How about in Ukraine, uncomfortably near Chernobyl?

Not a city, but there is the town of Prypiat which was evacuated overnight when Chernobyl went.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prypiat

It was left a literal ghost town due to the radiation levels. But beforehand the entire town, complete with shopping centres, schools, gyms and sports stadiums, was constructed to house the famillies of those working at Chernobyl.

People litterally had to grab what they could and leave the rest behind.

Tootally. I find Prypiat fascinating. It's like a future image of a post-apocalyptic city. Let's hope it's the nearest anybody TRULY ever gets to experiencing that, but looking through photos of the place is truly enthralling.
