Portugal's Côa Valley is one of the main pioneering, large-scale landscapes created by Rewilding Europe and became a home to the Aurochs 2.0 in 2023.

If you're in the area, make sure you have your cameras ready as, along with the mighty Aurochs, you may well spot an ancient breed of wild horse - The Sorraia.

Isn't it wonderful that the fauna our ancestors depicted on cave walls tens of thousands of years ago is alive in Europe once again?

Is that really a Sorraia? The ones I've seen pictures of are all much more 'wild horsey', pale dun or grey with stripes and stubby manes. I'm not saying they can't be bay, but that one looks a bit... breedy.
