POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - A former teacher who admitted killing a teenager and eating parts of his body 27 years ago still belongs in a secured mental ward, two psychiatrists told a judge.

Dr. Khin Myo testified Wednesday that Albert Fentress did not currently display symptoms of major mental illness but said he cannot grasp Paul Masters’ murder, or why he sexually mutilated and cannibalized the young man.

Fentress petitioned the state Supreme Court to be released from a locked prison ward in Orange County, 50 miles north of New York City.

Carve-up killer grandmother seeks mercy

A NEW South Wales grandmother who skinned and cooked her de facto husband will plead with a court to overturn her life sentence - because she is a woman.

Abattoir worker Katherine Knight, who liked to wear feminine Laura Ashley clothes and is known in jail for her demure behaviour, is the only woman in Australia jailed for the term of her natural life.

She lodged her appeal against her sentence from maximum security Mullewa soon after she was jailed in 2001 for the macabre murder of John Price.

But the case has floundered while lawyers tried to come up with convincing arguments for why Knight, 50, should ever be released from jail.

Her solicitor, Peter Katsoolis, refused to comment on the grounds of her appeal, due to be heard this week in the Court of Criminal Appeal. But it is understood it involves innovative grounds, including that she is a woman.

"Her appeal has been lodged for years but she hasn't been able to come up with some new grounds. She's been shopping around the lawyers," said someone close to the case.

Her frilly, flowery clothes were replaced with prison greens when she joined the 25 men sentenced to life in NSW since 1990, under truth in sentencing legislation.

The mother of four pleaded guilty to murder after Mr Price's body was found on the floor of his Aberdeen home in the Hunter Valley in 2000.

Knight worked as a slicer and packer at Aberdeen Abattoir and her lover had been carefully skinned and his skin hung on a meat hook in a doorway at the house.

His decapitated head was found in a pot on the stove. The table had been laid for dinner with name cards for Mr Price's three children and parts of his buttocks cooked and served up with vegetables and gravy on dinner plates.

The savage attack with a butcher's knife was triggered by Mr Price taking out an apprehended violence order against Knight the week before.

Their relationship had a long history of abuse, with Knight the abuser.

The couple had sex before the murder and it was believed Mr Price was asleep when he was attacked.

So-called "snuff" movies were among violent videos found at her house.

Sentencing Knight, Justice Barry O'Keefe said she had engaged in acts of violence against other former partners including her three ex-husbands.

She had smashed the false teeth of one man and slashed the throat of another's eight-week-old puppy in front of him.

The only woman in Australia serving life in prison without the hope of parole is appealing against the severity of her sentence for murdering and mutilating her partner. Abattoir worker Katherine Knight stabbed her de facto husband, John Price, 37 times and served his flesh to his children for dinner. In February 2000, Knight skinned Mr Price at their home at Aberdeen, in the Hunter Valley, and put his head in a pot on the stove.
She was jailed for life in 2001, without the possibility of parole.
Knight is appealing against the severity of the sentence in the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal, where her barrister John Stratton SC argued that the killing did not fall into the worst category of cases. Mr Stratton said that only the mutilation of Mr Price's body set it apart from other domestic murders.
But one of the appeal judges, Justice Michael Adams, said psychiatric evidence suggested Knight "got some pleasure out of the mutilation, and that was very troubling". Mr Stratton also said Knight had been physically abused by former partners and the sentencing judge should have taken that into account.

A SLOVAKIAN man has been charged with attempted murder after a pensioner was savaged by a cackling “cannibal” during a raid on his home.

Jan Ometak, 26, from Princess Avenue, Hereford, is accused of attacking the resident in the village of Lyonshall, near Hereford, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Doug Morgan, 75, and his wife Valerie were getting ready for bed when a maniac dived through a lounge window left open because of the heatwave.

A fierce tussle broke out as the intruder punched the OAP — then bit him repeatedly. He chewed off Doug’s thumb and ATE it, police said.

He is also thought to have ripped off the villager’s left nipple with his teeth — and tore chunks from his face and upper body.

Cops who arrived at the scene had to drag the nut off blood-covered Doug, who had passed out with shock.

They then used CS gas to knock him out. One officer was bitten and needed hospital treatment.

A police source said it was like a scene from the horror film The Silence of the Lambs, in which cannibal killer Hannibal Lecter wears a gruesome mask.

The source added: “There was blood on the walls and this guy was just laughing like a maniac.”

Last night Doug was in a serious but stable condition in Bristol’s Frenchay hospital. Shocked Valerie, who locked herself in the bathroom after witnessing the attack, was at his bedside. She is also in her 70s.

The psycho struck just after 1am on Monday.

Police yesterday sent a team of officers to the village to reassure locals it had been a “highly unusual and random attack”.

But they remained rigid with fear. One neighbour said: “Everyone is scared witless. There is talk of a cannibal attack in the village and no one can quite take it in.

“The old chap lived a peaceful life with his wife, then someone jumped through his window and bit off his thumb. It doesn’t bear thinking about.”

Doug and Valerie had only moved to their “dream cottage” less than two years ago after he had a triple heart bypass.

Cops last night confirmed Doug had suffered serious bite wounds, had lost a thumb and chunks of flesh from his face and body.

They do not think robbery was the attacker’s motive for entering the house. And it is understood he had no connection with his victim.

The police source said: “It was a bizarre and appalling attack on an old man. We have no idea why the attacker chose their house but there are mental health issues in this case.

“Mr Morgan put up a brave fight but was set about in a cannibalistic way. His thumb could not be sewn back on because the attacker had literally eaten it.”

Doug and Valerie live in a half-timbered cottage that was a gatehouse to an estate. The maniac is thought to have gone on the rampage before the attack — and the property showed signs of it last night.

Smashed lounge and kitchen windows were boarded up. The windscreen of Doug’s silver Renault Megane was broken and the garden shed was trashed.

A husband and wife in Mozambique face multiple charges after confessing to exhuming corpses to eat the flesh and powdered bones, say police.
They were arrested in the western village of Vanduzi last weekend in possession of human organs.

In a confession, the couple said that eating human flesh strengthened their power to heal people, police say.

Gorongosa district police say they are still investigating the case in an area where belief in witchcraft is strong.

Gorongosa district police commander, Jose Cumbe, said that it is the first case of self-confessed cannibalismhe had uncovered since he began working in Gorongosa two years ago.

The husband, 50-year-old Neva Mafunga said he had been eating human flesh for more than 20 years, the police say.

His 34-year-old wife, Nhanvura Faera, said she began eating human flesh on the orders of her husband.

I can find no trace of a Russian documentary film maker by the name of Zorin. It appears, however, to have been the surname of a James Bond villain.

Cannibal Eats Victim’s Head in Soup, Keeps Heart in Fridge

Police have detained a man who murdered an elderly movie director, disjointed his body and made soup by boiling the victim’s
head.

On July 30 a plumber called the police, saying he had found large chunks of meat in the sewage at a block of flats in northern Moscow.

“I was clearing a blockage, when I saw lumps of human meat!” the Zhisn daily quoted him as saying.

Police rushed to the scene, and bloody tracks led them to the door of Evgeny Zorin. Zorin, 69, was known for his documentaries dedicated to Russian outlands. He lived alone in his apartment in peace with the neighbors.

While the police were contemplating the blood on the stairs, a man rushed out of the apartment and ran for the door. The police detained him and went in.

The apartment was covered in blood, and a strange smell was coming from the kitchen where something was boiling in a saucepan. Inside the saucepan the police found a man’s head. On the kitchen table was a bowl of soup and a spoon.

Experts later identified human flesh among the soups ingredients.

In the fridge the police found a human heart, and further inspection produced bloodstained instruments — a small axe, a saw and a knife the murderer had used to cut the body to pieces.

Alexander Poyarkov, 29 years old, confessed to the murder. He said the old man had invited him to spend the night at his place when he had nowhere to go, and then raped him.

“He put me up for the night. Then he raped me. And I killed him,” Polyakov said.

Poyarkov stabbed his host with a knife several times. Then he disjointed the body, threw some parts away, flushed others down the toilet, kept the heart and boiled the head, to make the body unrecognizable, he said.

Poyarkov has been charged with murder. He is scheduled to undergo a psychiatric analysis in the near future.
 
They should be able to carry out tests on this suspect.

France probes 'cannibalism' case

A French prosecutor says he suspects an act of cannibalism was carried out on a prisoner by a cellmate in the northern city of Rouen.
Cannibalism was "very likely", the prosecutor said after an autopsy showed that some organ parts were missing.

The suspected killer claimed he had eaten the victim's heart.

The prosecutor, quoted by the AFP news agency, said some muscle had been removed from the victim's rib cage and part of one lung was missing.

But the heart remained intact, the prosecutor said.

The suspectp and another prisoner were sharing the cell with the victim when the attack happened on Wednesday, French TF1 television reported.

All three were awaiting trial accused of sexual-crimes, the TF1 website said. The suspected killer, aged 35, is believed to have beaten up the victim, 31, and then suffocated him with a plastic bag.

Good question. I'd guess from the list of typical parts you list: brains, eyes, hearts & genitals, that the crime is one of symbolic power rather than hunger.

Of course, it may be only the wackiest cases that we hear about. Thousands of perfectly normal cannibals might be using rational butchery on their victims but the press just want to dwell on those who let the side down! :shock:

'Victim's thumb eaten in attack'

A man ate the tip of a 75-year-old's thumb after entering the victim's home through a window, a court has heard.
Jan Ometak, 27, of Princess Avenue, Hereford, made animal noises and also bit Douglas Morgan's face, hand, arm and body, Hereford Crown Court heard.

Mr Ometak was said to be "like a man possessed" in the attack at Lyonshall, near Kington, Herefordshire.

Mr Ometak admits the facts but denies attempted murder or wounding with intent by reason of insanity.

Andrew Lockhart, for the prosecution, said both The Crown and the defence agreed Mr Ometak was responsible for Mr Morgan's injuries.

The court was told Mr Ometak, a Slovakian, came to the UK to work at a joinery firm about 18 months before the attack in July last year.

Mr Morgan was recovering from a heart by-pass operation when Mr Ometak broke into his property in the early hours of the morning.

The defendant first hit Mr Morgan with a broken lamp, when he tried to push him away Mr Ometak put his hand into his mouth.

'Unfit for interview'

"Jan Ometak began to bite down hard - that biting went on for some time and the tip of Mr Morgan's thumb was bitten off," Mr Lockhart said.

Mr Ometak was finally subdued by a police officer using CS-spray.

Mr Ometak was declared unfit for interview after telling police he had eaten Mr Morgan's thumb, which officers had searched the victim's address for.

Mr Morgan was taken to hospital and later underwent plastic surgery.

The trial continues.

In 1876, a man suffering from depression started eating his own flesh. At first, he started with his forearm — until he was detained and put in a straitjacket. But without access to his arms, he started eating his left foot. He wouldn't eat anything else and was absolutely uncooperative when he was put in protective custody.

When asked what his purpose was for eating himself, Guillarme said that God was "such a poor sculptor that he was trying to help rectify the shameful state of affairs." Upon being told that he would die if he kept this behaviour up, his reply was that he would continue eating himself until only his teeth were left. Finally, on July 4, Mr de Nittis died of shock at the age of 32.

His final act was self-castration — by his own teeth.

Man may face cannibalism charge

A man accused of murdering his flatmate in Vienna was apparently preparing to eat his alleged victim's body parts, Austrian police say.
Robert Ackermann, 19, was held after he was found next to the naked and mutilated body of Josef Schweiger, 49, in accommodation used by the homeless.

Mr Ackermann, a German, had blood around his mouth when he was found.

Police spokesman Gerald Hoebarth said parts of the victim's tongue and brains had been found on a plate in the flat.

Investigators say they cannot rule out that the suspect had eaten parts of the victim.

Mr Schweiger appeared to have been killed by a 10kg (22lb) dumbbell which cracked his skull.

Mr Hoebarth said the body had been slashed with a knife "from the throat to the genitals" but that "there was no removal of organs from the breast and stomach area".

The two men were staying in a flat used to provide short-term accommodation for homeless people.

Police say Mr Ackermann has remained silent during interrogations, apart from confirming his name and that he comes from Cologne in Germany.

Media reports say the crime was discovered when Mr Ackermann showed a cleaning lady the body.

Leeds murder victim was 'Cut up and cooked'

Part of the body of a man found stabbed to death in Leeds may have been cooked and eaten, the YEP can reveal.
The naked body of Damian Oldfield was found in a bedroom at a house in Bexley Place, Harehills, in the early hours of Thursday.
A chunk had been cut out of the 33-year-old victim's right leg.
Horrified detectives then found a diced up section of flesh on a kitchen worktop which had been cooked.
Tests proved the flesh was human.
Last night Det Supt Paul Taylor refused to comment on the report, but said that inquiries into Mr Oldfield's death were continuing.
The YEP believes that an appeal for information is being directed at the gay community within the city.
Police were alerted at 2.30am on Thursday and raced to the Harehills property and discovered Mr Oldfield's body. The area was cordoned off while forensic scientists examined the red brick terrace house.
A post mortem examination was held the same day and it is believed Mr Oldfield died from stab wounds.
Tributes from friends and workmates have appeared on the Gone Too Soon website on a page set up in memory of Mr Oldfield who lived in Bramley and worked at a Leeds-based magazine.
This morning a 35-year-old man was charged with Mr Oldfield's murder and was appearing at Leeds Magistrates Court today.

Damian Oldfield: Leeds murder accused due in court

The first winner of Mr Gay UK is due in court today charged with the murder of 33-year-old Leeds man Damian Oldfield.
Anthony Morley, 35, of Bexley Place, Harehills, Leeds, who was Mr Gay UK 1993, was due to appear for a plea and case management hearing at Leeds Crown Court.

Mr Oldfield's body was discovered in the bedroom of a house at Harehills in the early hours on Thursday, April 24 this year.

He lived in Bramley and worked as an advertising salesman on a Leeds based magazine.

It is alleged a chunk of Mr Oldfield's leg had been cut out and cooked.

TOPEKA - State Attorney General Phill Kline presented materials to legislators Thursday alleging that a Kansas City, Kan., abortion provider operated a dangerously substandard medical facility and even ate fetal tissue.

The allegations about the facilities came during a presentation to the House Committee on Federal and State Affairs.

"It's a place where no woman, no person, should have to undergo a surgical procedure," Kline said.

The allegation that the physician ate fetal tissue was included in written materials that Kline presented to the committee. The report came from a Kansas City police officer; the name of the witness he interviewed was blacked out in documents provided to legislators.

The report, prepared for Kline after officers conducted an investigation of an unrelated theft complaint at the clinic, said officers observed "filthy" conditions in some parts of the facility and blood stains on the floor.

The doctor named in the allegations is Krishna Rajanna, who operates the Affordable Medical and Surgical clinic.

He denied the allegations against him and his clinic, particularly that he consumed fetal tissue.

"That's untrue and a totally, totally made-up story," he said.

A Kansas City abortionist is out of business after investigators reportedly discovered a grisly house of horrors at his clinic.

Foetuses were allegedly kept in Styrofoam cups in Krishna Rajanna's fridge and one employee accused him of microwaving one and stirring it into his lunch.

Rajanna first came to the attention of police in September 2003 when he called police to investigate alleged employee theft.

Detective William Howard of the Kansas City Police Department is quoted by World Net Daily website as saying: "I thought I had heard and seen every vile, disgusting crime scene, but was in for a new shock when I started this investigation."

Topping the list of horrors was an employee's account that she and others witnessed Rajanna "microwave one of the aborted foetuses and stir it into his lunch."

Rajanna denied the accusation, but was found to keep foetuses in Styrofoam cups in the refrigerator along with food and drink.

Howard testified the clinic was dark, dingy, had poor lighting and smelled bad and there were roaches crawling on the countertops.

An employee testified Rajanna took home all contaminated, medical and biohazard waste instead of disposing of them in hazardous waste containers.

Two dishwashers located next to the staff toilet served as sterilizers, according to employee testimony. Photographs show the toilet was bloody and functioned as a human waste disposal in the literal sense.

As these fantasies begin to take over his conscious mind, his link with the real word begin to disintegrate. He becomes more and more alienated with his family, who cannot fathom what is going on and are powerless to help him.

He moves away, takes a low-level job far beneath his abilities, and starts to lure young minority men to his apartment where he conducts bizarre experiments on them, brutalizes and finally kills them. As if this were not enough, he then mutilates and decapitates them, has sex with their corpses and cannibalizes them.

Inevitably, he is brought to justice, and like many men who go to prison for life, he professes to find God and embrace religion before he was killed by a fellow prisoner. But does he really or is this just one more prisoner sham?
 
Woman's 'threat to eat dead body'

A woman accused of stabbing her mother's boyfriend to death was overheard during 999 calls threatening to eat his body, a jury has heard.

Maxine Williams, 22, denies murdering Bernard Evans, 42, at the house he shared with her mother near Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.

The jury at Swansea Crown Court has listened to a series of emergency calls made as he lay dying in the kitchen.

During one call, she could be heard saying: "Mam, I'm going to eat him."

It is alleged Ms Williams stabbed him twice during a violent outburst, because it is claimed he was bullying her mother.

The court heard Ms Williams said afterwards: "Good - I'm glad he's dead. He will never hit my mam again. He's dead because I killed him. He deserved it."

Prosecuting, Elwen Evans QC, said Ms Williams, of Pembrey, also threw knives at Mr Evans as well as stabbing him in the early hours of 22 January.

Police later found what the prosecution claim was the murder weapon on top of a radiator.

They also found a bundle of knives wrapped in a cloth and placed down a toilet.

Miss Evans said Ms Williams had also stabbed a wall and even a photograph of herself.

The prosecution said Ms Williams was living in a hostel but regularly visited her mother Julie's house in Pantyffynon.

Ms Williams's brother Wayne, aged 15, also lived there along with Mr Evans.

The jury first heard a 999 call made by Wayne from a callbox close to the house.

He could be heard telling the operator: "My sister had just kicked off with my mum's partner because he's been bullying us all.

"I'm really worried. Oh, please tell them to hurry up. Call the police. I need them quickly.

"I could hear her chopsing. There's loads of blood, there's tons of it."

"Swimming in blood"

Wayne cried as he added: "I'm really scared. I ran downstairs and saw loads of blood."

The operator stayed on the line reassuring him help was on the way until a police car pulled up outside.

While he was calling, his mother dialled 999 from her mobile telephone. She was still in the kitchen trying to help Mr Evans and Ms Williams was alongside.

During the call Ms Williams could be heard saying: "I'll eat him. Mam, I've killed him. Mam, I'm going to eat him."

In a second call by Mrs Williams, her daughter was heard in the background saying: "I'm going to eat you up now."

At one stage the operator reassured Mrs Williams an ambulance was on its way but meanwhile she should try to stop the bleeding.


Mrs Williams said there was so much blood she could not see where the wounds were, and she asked her daughter: "Where did you stab him? I'm losing him."

Mrs Williams also said: "My boyfriend's been stabbed by my daughter. He's blue in the face. The kitchen is swimming in blood. It's like a swimming pool."

The operator asked Mrs Williams if the person who had stabbed Mr Evans was still in the house. She replied: "Yes, my daughter."

Mr Evans could be heard moaning as Mrs Williams grabbed some tea towels to try and stem the bleeding.

While she was talking the police could be heard entering the house with the words: "Stay where you are."

Miss Evans said the motive for the alleged murder might be a claim by Ms Williams that Mr Evans had been violent towards her mother.

After the stabbing mother-of-one Ms Williams ran into the garden and armed police used a Tazer gun to subdue her.

Miss Evans said: "She told police: 'I'm glad I ripped his head off. I'm glad I killed him. I hope he dies."

The trial continues.

As far as I understand it, caniballism refers to the eating of another person's flesh (presumably without their permission!), so biting your nails, sucking a cut finger etc doesn't count.

There are certainly cases of women eating the placenta of their newborn baby, but again this isn't caniballism and in any case isn't limited to the UK.

So, I'd have to say that no, caniballism isn't legal and (almost certainly) never have been.

I agree cannabolism is defintely not legal, cause you either have to kill the person you planning on eating or get someone to kill that person for you so either way your looking at accessory to murder or murder!
 
You could always just eat a piece of someone. Could cost you an arm and a leg though.

I think it is more likely to cost that person your eating an arm and a leg dont you think? :lol:

Poor sod wouldnt have an arm and a leg to stand on :twisted: :lol:
