You are spot on. Now you're talking. Do we create our own reality? Why would the God the Isrealites forbid the making of graven images? Could it be that we give these things life. Something to annoy a jealous creator. Reminds me of a dream I had where my life was in the pages of a comic book being looked at and read by people who looked like they were drawn, while I was in comic book as a three dimensional character as we are in real life. Now the question is do they exist because we drew them and in doing so created another dimension or did they draw us as 3D creatures
Well, those are all good questions. The idea of the bible god always did sound a bit like a higher being that knew we might one day evolve to be a powerful, or collectively more powerful then them and they could not have that. So through religion and manipulation of people in power, has coxed us little by little away from the spiritual understanding side of reality and more into the "ohh, look at this shiny" material side of reality.
Now don't get me wrong. I think the universe we inhabit is a vast, wondrous place that holds things we could never likely understand given many lifetimes to try wrap our heads around it. And I love what and where science and technology has taken us in a very short period of time.
And there is even the possibility that all "god/Allah/Buddah" is, is some vastly technologically advanced race that we don't understand and so portray them as these deities.
Saying that though think that most religions are a con and if indeed there really was some sort of higher being who created us, that they would want us to succeed in joining them in the "heavenly chorus" out there in the universe. By giving us some very basic tools and understanding they would want us to figure it all out for ourselves.
As any parent will attest, there is no greater pride and joy then watching your child work things out on their own.
But I digress. Yes, I think there is a very real possibility that we make our own reality. Not like we can "materialize" something out of nothing, but when we are happy and in a good mood the world seems a happier place where good things keep on happening to us "randomly", compared to someone who might, lets say, have just gotten dumped or lost their job who, only notices the bad things happening to us. And, if asked, would say the world is a cold, dark place filled with hate.
But even further into that. Like I say, I think that there is the very real possibility that we create 2 dimensional characters/realities etc.. thought force of thought, or indeed mediation.
Where, with movies/comics having become a lot more prevalent over the last few decades, it has allowed people to visualize the likes of Elves and Djinn more easily, which has then in turn, allowed those realities to cross over into our own?
or indeed, with the rise of commercialism and these idea's/thoughts being able to reach a wider audience, it has allowed such things to temporarily manifest in this dimension due to the large amount of people focusing on a single idea/thought.
I had this waking daydream many many years ago (sober mind you). That basically put into my head this thought that all we(the soul if you will) are is energy, which, when we die, goes back to the great universal collective (or some great big energy mass somewhere that we are unable to detect, or some sort of Nirvana if you prefer), and the whole purpose of this life and world, is to learn and to grow and evolve. Until one day when we would hopefully ascend to a higher plane of existence.
It tapped into a lot of things I felt strongly about, such as re-incarnation. And when I woke, I felt this elation that I had been given a real truth.
If this perception was true... then there is no reason that elves and djinn could not exist, if not in this reality, in a parallel one.
Perhaps even they are the more evolved states of us and can alter their perception of appearance to their tastes? Who's to say a higher being wouldn't like Tolkien and fancied a bit of cosplay?
Just further though to something you said back in the original posts. You said the voices said they ruled the world and asked you if you really wanted to know about them... And you said you told them yes.... was anything more ever heard from those voices?
