WARNED ON FRIDAY TO LOOK OUT FOR A STRAY CAMEL OR LLAMA ON THE road.
The local Automobile Association (AA) said the animal had been spotted on a road in Offaly, in the Irish midlands.
"It looks as though Lawrence of Arabia is in town," an AA spokeswoman said.
"A motorist rang up and said there was a camel on the Clara road, but it might have been a llama," she said, adding that there was a circus in town.
Police said they had no word on the sighting.
