'Six Degrees Of Separation'

I had a car once that was owned previously by The Right Honarable Sir Whosname Whosname Something or Other MP, loverly car Triumph Dolomite Sprint.I miss that car, *sigh*.

I can't remember if I've said this one before, but my best friend used to work in her uncles squash center during the summer, and when he was very young Karl Urban (Eomer from LOTR and the Russian assassin in The Bourne Supremacy.) used to hang around and run errands and stuff for them. If only I could get an introduction...... ;)

I worked with a chap who's GF (now possibly his wife) lived next door to Darth Vader (the same bloke who did the Green Cross Code ads) and my best friend's Mum went to school with Lenny Bennett.

I've twanged the fat one out of Chas and Dave's braces. You may all touch my hem.

I thought it said

I've twanged the fat one out of Chas and Dave

Celebrity Gropes, this way please! Form an orderly queue! 8)

Hubcap had a friend who's family were friends with Dave Prouse. That means you and I are linked through a famous person! A whole new dimension of triviality to this thread :D

I used to work just outside Exeter in a pub which did an all day carvery and one day I served Chris Martin fron Coldplay. Of course I had no idea who he was until the chef serving him told me. He was very nice and left a big tip. I liked him. ;)

And don't forget Victor Von Vugt too!

Just remembered yet another link!
When I was at school, one of the lads I met claimed to be a direct descendant of William Shakespeare.
The lad's name was (of course) Shakespeare, and he did seem to have a very strong facial resemblance to the bard (in particular, the shape of his forehead).

I thought Shakespeare's direct line of descent died out in the 19th c., or am I thinking of some other figure?

Keep in mind that what Shakespeare actually looked like is a matter of some debate amongst scholars. So a passing resemblance may not really indicate anything.

Post self-censored to contain nothing controversial nor interesting...

I don't think that I know anyone particularly famous, but get this....

My eldest daughter's boyfriend is the brother of a girl who appeared on one of those 'instant popstar Saturday night talent shows' (can't remember which one as I never watched any of them), and one of her friends is Dan, the gay bloke who was on the last 'Big Brother'.

And I was a big mate of Paul Denman, who was the bass player for Sade. Sat next to him on my first day at grammar school and played Subbuteo at his house. Wow!

Oh, and I saw Dan (from Big Brother) in a local pub a few weeks ago. He borrowed my lighter, but I didn't let on that his friend's brother is going out with my daugh.......etc etc.

You won't find me crawling around celebrities! :)

Alakina Mann (who played the spooky little girl in The Others) is my second cousin. Her Mum and my Dad are cousins. I've met her twice, both occasions before her 5th birthday.
AND:
Jeremy Beadle's best mate used to live next door to my Gran. Beadle used to visit quite often, and was once told off by my mother because his dog got into their garden. She claims she didn't realise who he was till later.
AND:
My sister once gave snooker player Dennis Taylor a lift to Wrexham. He's friends with a friend of her old man. Apparently he is a very nice chap, and took them all out for an Indian to say thanks.
AND (really scraping the barrel):
My aunt in Yorkshire sold her house to the mother of the bloke from Black Lace.

My great auntie, Emily Davison, threw herself in front of the King's horse.

Think of all the horses I'm connected to.

Andy

I played Emily Davison in our college production of Epsom Downs. Spooky. :D

I went to the same school as Michael Winner. His generosity was such that a blackboard in one of the classrooms is dedicated to him.
He was interviewed about his time on a programme about vegetarianism (yes, the school is vegetarian) and smilingly moaned about the food being lousey - "We were better off eating grass" - which was probably because he didn't get brandy and cigars.

The whole school is vegetarian? That's highly unusual.

I saw Michael Winner with his then girlfriend Jenny Seagrove in the foyer at the Riverside Studios probably around 12 years ago. Before I recognised him my first thought was "How does a fat, middle-aged git like him get a young good-looking girfriend."

You mean "How does a fat, middle-aged millionaire like him get a young good-looking girfriend." ;)

A few yeears ago I was involved with the production of a Government commisisoned report which was written by a former Judge, Sir Ronald Waterhouse, who was a prosecution barrister at the trial of Myra Hindley and Ian Brady.

So I have attended meetings with someone who has met the Moors Murderers.

On a lighter note (sic), Pop Idol warbler Will Young is a distant cousin (his mother and mine are second cousins) although have not met for several decades. The connection was only realised when Mum recognised her cousin in the audience during one of the Pop Idol heats.

My ex's ex used to work with Dennis Nilsen.
I've worked with one of Harold Shipman's relatives.
My mate's girlfriend was Nick Berry's sister, who ran off with Sid 'Rickeeeeeeeey' Owen
I was in a club that Robbie Williams was in.
I had a beer with Ian Dury.
I met Timothy Good once.
I had a torrid affair with Rachel Weisz (that one is a lie).

I met Trevor Brooking at school.
My uncle lived down the road from Eric Morecambe.
Noel Edmonds and Jimmy Greaves went to the same comprehensive as me.
My dad used to spar with the Krays.
Sir Flinders Petrie is a distant relative.

I work just up the road from where Sonia from East Enders lives and staying on the EE theme, I narrowly missed running over Gillian Taylforth on the way to work a few years ago.

I went to a halloween party when I was 11 at Orlando Bloom's house and he ripped off my ghost costume.

Tony Hart was my friends art teacher.

My ex is a distant relation of Sir Baden Powell.

My friend went to the same school as Lee Evans.

My dad has met Colin Farrell and Jim Broadbent, was a body double for Brian Blessed and brought a car off of Pepsi (from Pepsi and Shirley fame)'s dad.

Another ex worked as an escort and was out with David Schwimmers agent when Mr Schwimmer called.

I met Cilla Blacks son when I was visiting Norwich uni and finally

Terry Prachett gave me his parking space in a car park in Northampton

2 degrees of separation to 9 US Presidents

I'm 2 degrees of separation from the last 9 US Presidents.

My dad worked with all of the US Presidents From Kennedy through Clinton. I worked for Colin Powell after he worked for the elder Bush and before he worked for "W."

BTW, I'm only one degree from Kevin Bacon because I met him while I worked for Powell. (Weirdly, I also met Henry Kissinger, who is even creepier than one would imagine.)

When my dad did his national service in 1954 , he was posted at Spandau Prison in Berlin . He had to take Rudolf Hess his meals every day - said he was a total nutter . Also in there at the time were Donitz and Spiers.

My wife is related to Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath .

My mum used to know Billy Connolly back in the 60s . He was in a band called the Humblebums , along with Gerry Rafferty (she knew him too). Her best friend is from Campbeltown , and knows Paul McCartney quite well (and her niece used to live next door to Des Barnes , from Coronation Street).

One of my mates was in a band called 18 Wheeler , who once had Oasis as their support act at King Tuts (Alan McGee was there , and signed them to Creation that night).

Used to see the Bay City Rollers all the time back in the 70s (Les McKeown used to live near me , and I knew his next door neighbour).

A mate of mine is Kirsty Gallagher's cousin , and his uncle is the famous golfer Bernard Gallagher.

A mate of mine at uni , lived next door to Andy , the singer in OMD.

Michael Caton Jones (Hollywood director - Scandal , Memphis Belle) is from my town , and went to my school . I knew his cousin , and he is mates with one of my mate's dad .

Unfortunately , I used to know world champion snooker player Stephen Hendry . He played at my snooker club , when he was about 15 . Even back then he was a stuck up little sh*t. Met him recently and he totally blanked me (even though he knows me)- little sod.

A guy I used to work with , his brother used to play saxophone with Hue & Cry (I met Pat Kane a couple of years ago in a park in Glasgow).

Oh , and Gash from Rab C Nesbitt is from my town . My mum used to play bingo with his mum.

My father's headmaster was Olivia Newton John's father (she wasn't born in Australia, as most people think, but Cambridge).

We have some oriental vases that used to belong to W.S Gilbert (...& Sulivan) as my step-father's aunt used to be his housekeeper.

How's that for convoluted?
