The problem I have with God...

The next time I have him over I'll pass on your regards. That's if he stops bickering with Jesus and the Easter Bunny for long enough.

The problem I have with God...

Science may have replaced god for a lot of people, but that isn't to say it isn't used as a form of control.

    Any Ideas?

Perhaps have a reader vote for the top ten stories featured since the magazine's creation (Yes I'm counting its days as a mere newsletter as well) and then run a catch up on what happened next. Either that or give us all a nice shiny piece of scrap metal from New Mexico.

    Serial Killers

Being an avid Serial Killer, ummmmmm.... not fan, maybe follower? Anyway I digest. Being somebody with an interest in serial killers I found myself stumbling across a guy I had never heard of, a J J Holmes, who built himself a 'Murder Castle'. I've never seen anything about this chap or his...

    Wasps

The Mighty Styx got stuck by a wasp the other day. Luckily I'm not allergic, but it got me right in the back of my head and for a second the world started spinning at a much faster rate. In fact it was quite a buzz!

Brad Pitt to star in World War Z

Personally I really liked Diary of the Dead. I admit it had some pretty fundamental flaws, but for me, it worked so much better than Cloverfield and was hampered mostly by the poor acting. Other than that it was a strong script with a fresh approach and some decent zombie action. Plus Romero's...

Brad Pitt to star in World War Z

Could be a good thing. He's also producing and he did a pretty good job of doing that with Kick Ass. I'm still reading World War Z so I'm not so sure at the moment how it would work as a film, although if they take the approach of a documentary....

    Alien Vs Predator

I do actually love the second film and will always argue that it's one of the great, underrated sequels of recent times. I do usually get laughed at by people whose whole argument consists solely of the word 'No' and who then trot out the usual movie magazine lines "It suffers because there's no...

    Alien Vs Predator

Anyway, anybody wanting to go see Predators definitely should. Don't expect anything on the level of greatness that was the original, but do expect to be pleasantly surprised. If only there had been a few more actual Predators and a couple of good quotable lines, then it would have been awesome...

    FT265

Good issue, but I'm just so bored of UFOs. There are only so many times I can read about lights in the sky and mysterious objects landing in forests before each incident blurs into the next. I do believe in the existence of aliens, I just wish they'd do something a little more interesting.

The Little White mushroom recently discovered in rural China is apparently lethal. I'm not sure if it's one of the deadliest poisons in the world but I thought it were mentioning as it's supposedly quite rare. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10630155

Favourite series of New Doctor Who

I think I'm liking the new series best. I did think David Tennant was really good, but after Ecclestone most things would have been, and after a while Tennant's shouty, angry voice was starting to grate on me a little. The latest series has captured much of the atmosphere I remember Who...

    Paranormal Activity - movie

I recently watched this again on DVD and have to say it works much better on the small screen than it did in the cinema. I find that most of these found footage films just don't belong on a big screen surrounded by popcorn munchers. Mostly because it's an environment I associate with...

Torture Porn goes mainstream: Yikes! Is it just me?

I guess the title wasn't enough of a clue. Although I've got to admit that I had a similar reaction with my first viewing of Deep Throat. I was expecting a taut, political thriller set in the Nixon era and ended up with, well, it wasn't taut. It wasn't taut at all!

    The "Horror Film Gene"

So it was Walt Disney who paved the way for the torrent of horror, violence and torture porn we see today. And all this time I assumed he was just another run of the mill anti-semite racist. My eyes have been opened. See!

They are not all bad I suppose

The PR is half the problem. Most modern religious types will try to paint god as some warm and loving grandfather figure only too happy to share its Werther's Originals. They like to gloss over all that wrath, punishment and the 'Kill your only son for me and we'll be just fine' type stuff of...

Atheist Summer Camp: A Rational Overview

Unfortunately my comment was meant in an entirely humourous context. Having said that, claims of child abuse have most certainly been a problem within the Catholic church, along with the ongoing accusations that priests have been relocated to avoid further investigation.

    Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

From what I've read in this months Total Film this version is meant to be a quasi-sequel to Wonderland and Looking Glass, which is why the Alice in this film is older. Apparently she re-enters Wonderland while running away from a potential suitor who is about to pop the question.

Brimstone Dead cop Ezekiel Stone is sent to Hell for murdering his wife's rapist only to be given a chance at redemption when 113 ne'erdowells escape the pit and take up their old hobbies back on Earth. John Glover played Lucifer and took regular delight in Ezekiel's conflict.
