Fortean Times:
Approx 163 issues - £20 – collect in York or Harrogate
Issue Nos. 68 (1993) to 171 (Aug 2003), 173-178, 180, 181, 182, 183, 186, 188, 189, 190-199
201, 202, 204-208, 211, 213-15, 220,222, 225-234, 236-240, 242-246, 250, 255, 272 (March 2011)
I want to get rid of them in one lot, and would rather not split them down.

May be able to deliver in the locality for the fuel cost!
John

Pity I cannot buy them, owing to living in Sydney, but would buy them if I could!

Yikes! That's a lot of cold hard cash!

Hi - Don't know if I'm posting this in the right fnord place or not but I have back issues of Fortean Times that I have to dispose of. They are Nos. 29 - 64, 130, 133, 135, 140, 162, 212, 307. 309 - 313, 315 -320, 322 - 328.
I don't know if anyone's interested but all I'm concerned with is that they find their way to someone who'll appreciate them. I've spent the last few months getting rid of books and magazines and I hate having to take things to the tip!
I'm in Chelmsford. Hope that's enough information! Now how do I get out of this site......?

That was an incorrect response, but we'll let you off, Mr Dawson. Please stay awhile. And tell us your tales.

I'm sure someone will be interested in buying (or just receiving) your surplus FTs.

You will miss them, of course.

Unless they mysteriously return, after they've been taken away. Which would be rather-unexpected, yet also entirely-appropriate. I read somewhere that bibles allegedly sometimes do that...

Hi Phil.

Did you by any chance co-found the Edinburgh SF fan group FORTH back in 1979?

Hello John

I'm interested in these if you haven't already sold them. I live in Kent, so would need to send a courier or have you arrange one if you prefer. Is that possible?

Many thanks

Helen

Hello Phil

I'm interested in these if they haven't already met their fate?!

I'm based in Kent so would need to use courier/post to get them here.

Best wishes

Helen

Hi Phil.

Did you by any chance co-found the Edinburgh SF fan group FORTH back in 1979?

And are you by any chance the member formerly known as Owen Whiteoak?

Sorry to disappoint you, Owen, but No I didn't co-found the FORTH SF fan group. And do I detect a Da Capo reference?

Good afternoon Helen,

All those issues are still awaiting a new home so hopefully we can arrange to get them to you. I'm away this week-end but I'll contact you next week, if that's O.K.

Regards

Phil

I've still got them - do you want to arrange a courier? PM me and we can have a chat.

In previous rare comments, I'd made that plain, I thought (though maybe in overly subtle ways, coz I'm like that sometimes), and I can't reasonably expect everyone to have read them all or indeed to remember any of them. I confess, I have been a subscriber since 1979 and I did work at Fortean Towers as picture researcher for around two and a half years, then as sub-editor for some nine years or so. It was me. I admit everything. Well, I still refuse to admit shooting Archduke Franz Ferdinand, but if you buy me a few drinks...

I can't possibly comment on what you may or may not detect, but I does kno that "Number Fourteen" was originally the B-side of the single release of "Seven and Seven Is", later included on the (vinyl) Elektra Records compilation "Out There" (as distinct from the double album of originals on Blue Thumb Records, "Out Here") and later included on the CD re-release of the "Da Capo" album. You want obscurity? I got it.

Oops - checked and "Number Fourteen" is actually on the CD re-release of the first album (well, not the first EVER album, obviously), "LOVE", originally released on vinyl in 1966.

Facts nobody gives a damn about, No. 19,278,542,207,003,626. Or thereabouts.

Hi again Helen,
Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you but I don't normally spend much time online and because of various events I've spent even less time in front of a computer screen. ANYWAY, here I am and those issues of FT are still in my garage. Are you still interested? If so, how do we go about this? Should I give you my personal e-mail address or send you my phone number - I think it'd be a lot easier to have a real conversation with you and discuss the best way to get the magazines over to you.
Let me know what would suit you

Regards

Phil

Hi Phil

Yes, let's have a chat if you still have them? Have PMd.

[Sorry, My Mum died and I've not been functioning too well. Just getting back on my feet after nursing her since we last chatted.]

So sorry to hear that, 221b.

Without checking, I'm pretty confident that it would cost more than your budget to ship them from Aus to UK.
