One new thing I learned was there was a plot to kill Kennedy in Chicago a month earlier, a former marine was arrested but the guys in the motel with the guns slipped away. It seems that it would take some amount of planning to put two assassination plots in place a month apart. Yet a month later another former marine that served also in Japan was supposed to be up in the book depository. I feel from all I have read about it that Oswald went to the theatre to make contact with people he believed were bringing him to Cuba, I think he was supposed to die there but it didnt work out and Jack Ruby was sent in on a suicide mission to silence Oswald. Eye witness testimony says Oswald continued to move seats, looking for the contact that wasnt there.

Had the chance to visit Dealey Plaza last year. Will be in Dallas for a couple of months next summer so will go back again, didn't have time to do the museum this time.

No great revelation to add. Stood on the grassy knoll, stood in the road where the X was. Rescued a man whose car for sideswiped by a city bus, only to find the drink that fell outta his car was clearly booze and his passenger - a cab it was - bailing with her suitcase in the midst of all the drama. The second most exciting thing that has happened on Dealey Plaza...

It's quite an odd feeling to actually be standing on the site of somewhere you have seen in pictures and film so many times. It really has not changed much.

Really eager to do the museum and check out some of the other sites in the city, the movie theatre, Bonnie & Clyde's graves.

Did you have the chance to stand behind the picket fence, to see if it was really possible for a shooter to hide back there and shoot?

I've looked that photo up many times, and cannot find the location of that drain. I would love to visit the site in person, perhaps when I move down south I will have that chance! This actually looks like it might be in the bridge area? Don't know why there is not more information, or a write-up about it. Very interesting.

Yes, somewhere here I'd say. At the end of the carpark.
There is also a theory that someone was in a drain on the actual street (by the kerb next to the grass bank).

Edit: Actually, further over to the left;

If you watch this video with one of the railway workers who was standing on the bridge along with seven or eight others, at around 5.52 I think you can see the drain at the bottom left of the screen.

I doubt someone could have shot from there without being seen by them, but that's not to say that the drain couldn't have been used to maybe store a weapon before the shooting I suppose.

Not as long as I'd have liked, was with colleagues.

Will be in Dallas for two months next year staying nearby so will get a good chance to mosey around from every angle.

Any theories anyone wants testing let me know!

Would love to know the location of that drain that @Floyd brought up, and if it was possibly involved in the assassination in some way!
Some photos would be really interesting. As well as angles from behind the grassy knoll fence. And the area in front of the fence, where Gordon Arnold claims he stood during the shooting.

You're right, it looks like the location. wonder if it was possible for someone to use it for escape purposes?

Remind me in May 2026... Will be more than happy to go grab some shots and snoop around ☺️

Will do, I bet you'll get a list from everyone. Also, will you be visiting the Texas School Book Depository building, which is now the Museum for the assassination?
I also want to visit the graves of Bonnie & Clyde.
