Walking alone through the afternoon traffic...
Just saw this on the news. The way it all froze reminded me of that chocolate sauce topping stuff you get for ice cream, that reacts to the cold of the ice cream and turns solid.

Just think of the amount of ice cream you'd need for the chocolate in this picture... *mouth waters*

Did anyone else look at the photo, notice the long smooth track down the middle (no doubt left by an unsuccessful mechanized scraping attempt) and think, "Oh, wow - a pure chocolate Slip 'n' Slide!" ?

Nothing brings out the scavengers like free beer ...
Beer spill causes chaos on Thailand street
Hundreds of local residents descended on a street in Thailand when an overturned truck spilled 80,000 cans of beer into the road.

Driver Somporn Primjarus, 58, said he was less than a mile from his warehouse destination in Phuket when he lost control of the truck while turning a corner and the vehicle overturned. ...

The crash caused the truck's load of Leo beer to spill into the road, leading to chaos as hundreds of people rushed to take the cans from the roadway.

Police said the people who took the cans could face theft charges if they are identified by investigators.

Here's an extra-icky mess to clean up - animal blood and tissues flooding your basement ankle-deep ... :gobs:
Iowa man finds 5 inches of animal blood flooding basement

Blood may be thicker than water, but it’ll still flood your basement.

Nick Lestina found this out the hard way two weeks ago when he discovered 5 inches (13 centimeters) of blood, fat and other animal tissue flooding his family’s basement in Bagley, which is about 45 miles (72 kilometers) northwest of Des Moines. He told the Des Moines Register that he hasn’t been able to clean it up because it’s still seeping in.

The waste is coming from a neighboring meat locker, where blood and tissue from slaughtered animals was washed down a drain. Officials say a clog or break in the pipe sent the waste into Lestina’s basement through a floor drain.

A state environmental specialist traced the waste to Dahl’s Custom Meat Locker and says the company is now pumping its into a large tank.

The Lestina family has temporarily moved in with a relative.

Huge Brussels sprout spill after trailer crash in Rosyth

Source: BBC News Online
Date: 16 December, 2019

A trailer full of Brussels sprouts has spilled over a road and pavement in Fife.

The vehicle pulling the trailer full of the Christmas dinner vegetable overturned in Queensferry Road in Rosyth at about 10.45.

Police Scotland said it had closed the road and was urging drivers to avoid the area.

The tweet added: "Please avoid the area if possible. Traffic and Christmas dinners may be affected. Apologies for any delays."

There are not thought to be any injuries.

Thousands of gallons of wine have leaked into a California river system this week.
Winery spills thousands of gallons of cabernet into California river

A California river filled with wine when a tank of cabernet sauvignon sprang a leak at a popular winery.

Christopher O'Gorman, a spokesman for Rodney Strong Wine Estates in Healdsburg, confirmed the tank in Sonoma County sprang a leak Wednesday and wine poured into the Reiman Creek, which carried it to the nearby Russian River. ...

The California Office of Emergency Services said 97,000 gallons of wine spilled into waterways, but the winery said that number represents the full capacity of the tank and only about 20-25 percent spilled. ...

Don McEnhill, the executive director of the non-profit Russian River Keeper, said volunteers have been monitoring the situation.

"We're lucky in that it's winter, the river is high, there's a fair amount of dilution. We haven't had any reports of fish kills, certainly the biochemical oxygen demand and the acidity of the wine is going to kill some smaller insect type things that are fish food. This could have been a lot worse," he said. ...

A fire suppression system malfunction at a small airport filled a hangar with foam and generated a foamy mass that covered a parking lot and the primary airport access highway out front.
Fluffy malfunction: foam fills airport hangar in Virginia

A firefighting malfunction left a frothy mess at a northern Virginia airport when foam filled a hangar and spilled out onto a nearby road.

Officials in the city of Manassas said Wakeman Drive leading to Manassas Regional Airport was closed Friday morning as workers began cleaning up the mess.

The city said a fire-suppression system malfunctioned at one of the businesses around the airport, causing white foam to fill a hangar. Overflow foam covered Wakeman Drive, which runs in front of the airport. ...
