Fascinating update:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-london-embassy-how-he-became-unwelcome-guest

Made himself at home!

That autumn, the security consultants reported that Assange had somehow set up his own secret communications network.

Moreover, they said he had “violated” the embassy’s computers and was apparently reading confidential diplomatic traffic, the company reported. Embassy staff apparently kept their personal files on Assange in a safe – the one place he could not access.

The head of Ecuadorian intelligence, Rommy Vallejo, held a meeting with Patiño to discuss the Assange situation and the “risks” he posed to embassy staff. Over time, Assange came to take up more than one-third of the embassy’s ground-floor space. Initially, he slept in narrow room next to the balcony. He subsequently colonised a back room as a bedroom and occupied half the kitchen. Assange’s unkempt realm was home to WikiLeaks and its computers, and was entirely private. There was no CCTV. It was off limits to diplomats, the rooms only accessible via special codes.

Speculation is that it might all be coming to a head and he could be out within the year. He is now a Ecuadorian diplomat and his physical health is deteriorating; Ecuador has gone from ally to gaoler and has him under surveillance and has blocked his Internet access and all visitors and is trying to find a solution which doesn't involve him going to the U.S.

Ecuador has really gone out on a limb to protect him.
Now he's taking the pee.

It isn't clear they'll ask for him. Pompeo wanted to get him in the past, but there has been alleged to have been communication between Trump and Assange through both Stone and Farage.

Perhaps they have an understanding. Assange gave him a huge boost in leaking anti-Hillary dirt and sitting on anti-Trump material.

Maybe we'll hand him to Spain or Sweden, then.

Sweden gave up.

Why Spain?
In the article, it mentions that Spain were putting pressure on Ecuador because some of their secrets had been revealed by Wikileaks. Since Spain will give the UK problems with Gibraltar, we may try to curry favour with them by handing him over.

Stranger things have happened.

It'll be the courts who decide whether or not he's extradited to any particular country though. One of the things at the forefront of judges minds will be whether or not Assange is likely to get a fair trial. Only dictatorships decide to hand over individuals as sweeteners and the UK is certainly no dictatorship.

This could drag on for a while yet even if he is evicted from the embassy. The court which granted him bail would likely have first dibs on him seeing as he skipped.

Hang on .. he's suing Equador now! .. has he lost his mind or has he got a sneaky trick up his sleeve to get out of their embassy un arrested I wonder? ..

Julian Assange: Wikileaks co-founder to take legal action against Ecuador

What's even MORE unbelievable is that the ineffectual politician and professional time-waster Nick Clegg got knighted.
Sir Nick is being given a package of between £4M-£7M a year for that ridiculous Facebook job (see this link). So, a king's ransom for a plastic knight who basically regurgitates circular truisms regarding Social Media that he's picked-up in passing, via popeish pronouncements in a classless mock-posh querulous whine. Politicians are leeches- former politicians who are given plum false jobs, doubly-so.

I really wish the so-called Wikileaks saga would shine some proper light into the shiny confection known as Facebook.

The Evening Standard are reporting that Julian Assange has been granted an Australian passport. Now all he has to do when he eventually leaves the Ecuadorian embassy is somehow manage to not get arrested on the way to the airport.

Is diplomatic immunity transferable to someone like Assange while he's in an official embassy car or could UK police force him to leave the vehicle or indeed the aeroplane still on British soil?

The real reason for his expulsion from the Embassy was because he neglected his cat.

Assange was told to take charge of the “well-being, food, hygiene and proper care” of his pet cat, in the memo written in Spanish and first published on the Ecuadorian Código Vidrio website.
