There is no heavy metal in this video, so non-Metallica fans can relax. Kirk Hammett talks about his love and obsession for Horror films. Oh and he's plugging a book, but that's by the bye.
What a collection - and a glimpse of a truly beautiful Dracula poster at about 8:50

Before I Wake: it gets 6.1/10 at IMDb but I gave up after 35 minutes. IMDb review below.

In this intense and heart pounding supernatural thriller, Jessie (Kate Bosworth) and Mark (Thomas Jane) decide to take in a sweet and loving 8-year-old boy, Cody. Unbeknownst to them, Cody is terrified of falling asleep. At first, they assume his previous unstable homes caused his aversion to sleep, but soon discover why: Cody's dreams manifest in reality as he sleeps. In one moment they experience the incredible wonder of Cody's imagination, and in the next, the horrific nature of his night terrors. To save their new family, Jessie and Mark embark on a dangerous hunt to uncover the truth behind Cody's nightmares.

If you liked Paranorman then Tim Burton's animation Frankenweenie is just as smart and funny. It is in black and white, though, just like an old Universal horror (or NOTLD), which might be why it flopped.

Thanks for the recommendation and I have seen Frankenweenie .. loved it ...

The Devil's Rock: British Commandos, an SS Occult Unit in search of the ultimate Supernatural Weapon, Witchcraft, a shape shifting Demon. Yes, the Channel Isles were a fun place to be during WW2.

Two commandos land by dinghy on a decoy mission to sabotage gun emplacements thereby misleading the Germans as to the likely D-Day invasion sites. But they hear female screams coming from a bunker investigating they find a Lovecraftian scene, half eaten German soldiers, a soldier who has committed suicide. A Grimoire lies on the ground.

A surviving SS officer kills one commando and captures the other. Then we encounter the Demon who handily can take on the features of your loved ones. A summoning has gone wrong. The commando and SS officer are forced to cooperate.

Great Demon, ripping heads off.

Good War/Horror film, 7/10

You should like it if you liked Sleepaway Camp .. I might check out The Devil's Rock tomorrow cheers ..

I thought I had posted Devil's Rock here before but can't find it.

Just saw it again on youtube.

Yeah, kind of!
I remember liking it a bit but my ultimate test for any film is if I can remember much about it or even remember watching it at all. I seem to remember the visuals of the film more than the storyline.

Saw The Boy, I didn't have high hopes but I like Lauren Cohan in The Walking Dead, so gave it a go. Pleasant surprise! Nothing groundbreaking, but a nice little haunted house mystery with a twist I didn't predict. If you want a modest, enjoyable horror you could do a lot worse.

(Incidentally, hearing Miss Cohan's wavering accent in the extras was... interesting).

This one's meant to be pretty good so I'll be watching it tonight. I'm not sure if it still copyrighted or not ?, if so the mods might need to remove this post ..

This film had me scared out of my wits at times. I knew from reviews there was a twist but it still got me. 8/10 from me.

I'm going to see The Girl With All The Gifts again tomorrow night. Deserves a second viewing.

Just discovered this good looking film that I haven't seen mentioned around the forums before. Lord of Tears, here's a quote from wiki,

Lord of Tears, also known as The Owlman, is a 2013 Scottish horror film directed by Lawrie Brewster and was his horror film directorial debut.[1] The film first released on 25 October 2013 in Whitby at the Bram Stoker International Film Festival, where it won two awards.[2] The film follows a Scottish schoolteacher that begins to see visions of the Owl Man, a strange figure that he was obsessed with as a child.[3]
