What almost looks like Plankton's elephant eggcup. It's amazing what you can find on internet these days.WTF is that Vardoger
That does look like it doesn't it?What almost looks like Planktons elephant eggcup. It's amazing what you can find on internet these days.
Drawing of missing eggcup as promised in post no.5020 above.
It was really very difficult for me to draw this from memory, especially as I can't remember if there were any other markings on it. The actual eggcup was more top-heavy in that the head was larger than this pic.
I remember that the pupils of it's eyes were a bright green.
I've added some vestigial tusks. I think it had some.
Another feature I remembered when doing this was that round the back it had a tail which was bobbed like a rabbit - and painted black.

I'm about 90% sure that what is shown in those ebay links IS/WAS my eggcup! Thanks for finding those images Vardoger and Min.
It's a lesson in the fallibility of memory, if you look at my pic and then the ebay one. I got the rabbit tail wrong, where did that come from? And the panda eyes, but this wasn't something from my childhood - I definitely owned it as an adult so I thought my memory of it would have been a bit better.
I see I got the vestigial tusks right though and the green pupils.
But look at it. It has paws and it's hind legs are nothing like an elephant's.

Those elephant eggcups may have been made in India.
Indians tend to paint up real elephants with all kinds of colourful paint and powder:

Maybe the black eyes and trunk are simply a version of that?
May I ask, David, if you intend bidding on the Ebay Elephant? If so I shall happily refrain from doing so myself; But I do find it strangely pleasing in an odd sort of way and might enjoy having it.
I won't be, no. Whatever it's reasons for leaving me were, I'm going to respect them. I wish it well in this new chapter of it's life and if you do bid then good luck.
I have two perfectly serviceable eggcups anyway, even if they do seem a little dull in comparison to the above. One's a Beatrix Potter affair and the other was handmade by a local artist. That one came from a range he called Red Crusader, but this was back in the 90's when there was no such thing as Islamophobia.
You take your eggcups pretty seriously.

until these last few posts i didnt actually believe in the existence of eggcups, never having to my knowledge ever seen one ... i kind of thought they were a victorian parlour relic ...
The debate is very much alive: are you a Big-Endian or a Small-Endian?
I know it doesn't sound long enough, but it's the very best way to guarantee a soft yolk
Big-endians are the spawn of the devil, what is wrong with some people? The debate is very much alive: are you a Big-Endian or a Small-Endian?

Two days ago I was reading the article on the Golem in the FT. Upon reading that Francis Black (singer of the band Pixies) had recorded a soundtrack to a 1920's film on the Golem I decided to look on Deezer for it. On Deezer I typed in Francis Black and The Golem album was the first in the search results. Then last night my wife switched the TV channel over, the programme starting was a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror, on the Golem of Prague.
I'm sure he changed his name from Black Francis to Frank Black, or the other way around. I have all Pixies original vinyl on 4AD records, even including the bag that Doolittle came in. loving his UFO stuff he was quite Fortean really.
It doesn't surprise me TBH. I'm sure though that he changed his stage name, changed the first name and surname. I met Captain Sensible ( of punk band The Damned) a few years ago at a bar. He is very well spoken and remarkably courteous and polite.
