Don't forget The East needs its bogeyman too. Do we not hear about Western spies killing people in Russia because it doesn't happen, or because it's covered up?

Come on old chap - don't you know our British spies are much too good at their game to get caught...what what!

The Guardian article I linked to above, summarised it thus:

"Now, there are two plausible explanations for how the poisoning story went down, and neither paints a particularly optimistic picture. If it’s indeed Vladimir Putin’s deep hatred of turncoats that prompted him to authorise the Skripal hit, as the New York Times alleges, then he critically lacks any strategic foresight and has let personal animus take precedence over Russia’s immediate and long-term interests. If he truly didn’t anticipate all the sanctions, diplomatic expulsions and a newly galvanised global opposition to Russia — or he just didn’t care — then engaging with him in any sensible way might be simply impossible. We already know that the man gets high on his own fake news supply and is an ardent believer in some pretty kooky conspiracy theories.

If Putin didn’t authorise the operation, this makes the matters even worse, both for Russia and for the world. Because that would mean that Putin doesn’t control his own security apparatus, whose members go rogue on ever more reckless vengeance missions at home and abroad. "

The 2nd option is beginning to look increasingly likely.
Sounds even bleaker today.

Possible Russian nerve agent attack in Paris?

"French prosecutors have opened an investigation into the possible poisoning of an exiled Russian journalist who staged a high-profile protest against the war in Ukraine. Marina Ovsyannikova, who held up a placard reading “Stop the war” on Russian television last year, became unwell after opening the door to her apartment in Paris and finding a powdered substance, AFP reported."

Listening to the BBC radio news on my drive home tonight, they suggested that Igor Kirillov, head of Russia's Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Forces, who was blown up by a strategically placed exploding e-scooter in Moscow earlier, was behind the Salisbury Novichok attack.
Looks like we all owe Ukraine a huge debt of gratitude for giving this vile war criminal his just desserts.

Well, I suppose no one is going to be too suspicious at first when that happens.

I didn't know where to put this but as March is the anniversary of the Salisbury poisonings and as I'm almost a Salisbury resident...am I overthinking this but with reports of Russian backed sabotage in parts of Eastern Europe are we also the target for rogue state terrorism?
My conspiracy mind went into overdrive when a cargo ship hit a tanker in the North Sea recently and then we find out the captain is Russian. As soon as I saw the news this morning regarding Heathrow I naturally assumed it was more Russian terrorism (this is unfounded as I write this).
Do you think we'll have more incidents like this now that we're in a proxy conflict with a rogue state or am I just overreacting? (Proper tin foil hat territory )
