a sensible straight-talking guest (if not really an expert) in Kiell Smith-Bynoe.

agreed. Also, wikipedia says he popularised platty-joobs which cracks me up every time I hear it. Seriously, I'm like Pavlov's dog (if that experiment was with an abbreviation/nickname and making someone laugh like a hyena)

Has any reports of ghosts dressed from the 1950's onwards like Teds, Mods, 70 Boot Boys or Punks.
When Techy's ouija board collection was mounted on a wall facing his neighbour Phil's stairs, poor Phil's house became haunted by various apparitions.

One was of a young woman in a mini skirt, heavy eye make-up and backcombed hair.
Phil's girlfriend strongly objected to waking up in the night to see a 1960s ghost leaning over her.

Have you got Danny Robins' phone number? There's a good hour's worth to be unpacked there!

You need a VPN. I use Windscribe, which lets you select which country to pretend to be in. I use it mostly for watching French TV in the Uk, but it also lets me access BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and any other geographically locked apps when I'm abroad.
I have found that some streaming services know you are using a VPN and you are still blocked.

Ah, there were two Holly Mount schools:

Speaking of Holly Mount. Could someone tell me if their are/were 2 such places. There is a Holly Mount school (used to be an orphanage) in Greenmount/Tottington. And there is also the remains of a Holly Mount school in Rawtenstall some 7 miles away. Are they somehow linked, and is it possible to mistake a reference to one for the other?

There were two schools by the name of " Hollymount " but the one in Greenmount was a convent home run by nuns and had it's own shool which is still there today. the convent home was run by the sister of charity of Jesus & Mary order. The pulled down the convent home back in 1992 and built flats there , the chaple was later turned into flats also. The school still remains.

So which was near the farm and which one had the graveyard because it seems there is some confusion?
So, how much research went into this specific story? You would think that when looking into the story, that the research would bring up this information. Even local people would be able to tell the research team that.

I think 'Uncanny' suffers from the same issue as 'Who Do You Think You Are?' in that part and parcel of the programme is we are lead to believe it is all being uncovered as we go along, whereas it is obvious that it must all have been researched before they started spending precious money on actually making the show.

I remember Michael Parkinson saying in an interview that he was approached to do 'Who Do You Think You Are?' - but after they did all the research and found nothing very interesting in his ancestry, the idea was dropped. I think he said all his ancestors were found to have worked down the mines. No murderers at all, no workhouses, no one transported to Australia. Just a bunch of miners. There is an art and craft to tv shows.

Most of the celebrities offered the 'Who Do You Think You Are?' gig are eventually dropped because their forebears were too boring. :chuckle:

Jack Dee parodied this in his excellent 'Lead Balloon" tv series, with his character Rick believing his deceased relative Reg Elworthy was the youngest ever spitfire pilot but the researchers finding out he was only ever ground crew

It is great light entertainment and I have already have my moan about the details left out that we really need to know but with a few tweaks it could be more forensic and less filler, such as constructing a scale model of the house to show where the activity occurred and a bit of Time Team mapping to help us understand where the farm was in relation to the graveyard and the orphanage etc.

In the end, Uncanny is entertainment and you can't really expect the kind of detailed analysis that we would like. That is down to actual Fortean researchers rather than an entertainer.

Is Post Mortem a podcast or video? The only thing I can find is that it's a tv show.
There is a post mortem which is a tv show but apparently a longer version of it is a podcast (just audio). I watched the post mortem with visuals, I don't fancy listening to the longer version.....

I know what would happen if I did. I would start doing something whilst listening, get bored and stop listening at some point because I get engrossed in what I am doing instead....

Danny has posted this on his IG

which took me by surprise. I knew Uncanny was popular but I didn't realise it was this popular.

Yup, my interest is in hearing people describe their weird experiences.
I don't care whether it can all be proved or not. I can make up my own mind.

For me the attraction is the Ghost Tales from Everyday People aspect.

There’s an 8 minute difference on the podcast but I really couldn’t spot what was different.

Also the undoubted success of Uncanny means we will get more Fortean podcasts and tv shows on the BBC and elsewhere from the likes of Sian Eleri and Charlie Cooper. It is very good news for all of us Forteans that the paranormal is trending in the 2020s.

Talking of which, Sian is filming another series of her BBC paranormal tv show which is great news:

I wonder which new Welsh case she will feature...?

All good news.

Ghosts're great aren't they. By far the most interesting of all Forteana.

Yup, that's the fascination. We don't know what they are.
There are certainly different types.
See people say ghosts don’t exist which annoys me. Millions of people have experienced something. What we don’t know is what ‘ghosts’ are. I do believe there is not just one reason for what people see and experience.

I think people struggle with the whole 'souls of the dead still roaming this Earthly realm' stuff when in fact that is only one rather archaic theory for what people experience (although poltergeists are a different manner). For me it is much more about place memory, unless the ghost starts interacting with you and then we are into time-slip and/or poltergeist territory.
