I was in a cafe in Los Angeles lining up to buy coffees for my wife and I, looking at the milk options and they had every variety imaginable (which was many) except skim/no fat milk.

A Cromer woman me and the Mrs are friends with said to me this morning "You turned up in a dream I had the other night. Weird." ..

It's nice she feels comfortable around me to tell me that but what do you say? .. I had to lower tone with "Was I any good?." and we both had a chortle at that then I apologised for being in her dream like a Cromer Freddy Kruger. The Mrs says it wouldn't have been a rude dream or she wouldn't have mentioned it. :)

Last night:

I was in an unfamiliar English pub of the Victorian town-pub variety.

This is not surprising as some friends and I had earlier been discussing the need to meet up in one when the current unpleasantness has abated.

I think that my wife and daughter had gone off shopping, leaving me with the bags, and I'd sloped off for a sly drink.

Anyway, after finally unloading my numerous burdens, I walked up to the bar to order a pint. I inspected the various pump-labels for an interesting local brew to try and selected one that looked promising.

With no firm idea about current ale prices, I produced my wallet and pulled out a ten-pound note, assuming that this would cover it. I handed the note over, but after a moment the barmaid (50s and working class), returned it and pointed out in a matter-of-fact way that it was a tea-bag, not money.

I was understandably embarrassed and delved hurriedly for another note (and it felt like a note when my fingertips found it), but as soon as it got into the barmaid's hand, it somehow turned out to be another tea-bag--one of the 'square with string and tag' type.

Seeing that I was getting flustered, the barmaid tried to reassure me with the kind of tone that women of one's mother's age often adopt around young and faintly incompetent young men: you're not going to be able to buy much with teabags, love. Don't worry, there's no hurry. Keep on looking and I'm sure you'll find some money in there somewhere... etc.

But I have no idea how the whole thing resolved as I woke up with a start when my wife opened the bedroom door!

Money worries, perhaps?

I seem to be in a series of dreams involving me getting upto hijinks with my (ex) brothers in law. Last nights involved a trip to Cleobury Mortimer to visit a model shop which dosn't actually exist. The details were very vivid though, right down to logos on plastic bags holding figures.

Just a snippet from a weird one last night....

I dreamed that a friend of mine was inviting myself and someone else to a concert. The band, "Triceratops Head" was heavy metal, but it gets better. There had been a traveling paleobotany exhibit at the local museum and after it had closed to the public (to be moved to another city), they had agreed to keep everything displayed so the band could use it as a backdrop for their show.

Recently I have been having lots of dreams about people I went to school with and last saw some 30+ years ago now. I’m not sure what has triggered this, but it seems to be every night at the moment, I‘m dreaming about another high-school friend.

Last night I was shopping for nerf guns in Blackpool with an old school friend I haven’t seen in 32 years. The night before I was in a serious relationship with my high-school crush who I haven’t seen in about 30 years; We were on holiday somewhere warm and just in a happy comfortable relationship. When I woke up it took me hours to get over the sense of loss.

This got me to thinking about other dreams I have had in which I have been in a serious romantic relationship with a girl who is a complete stranger to me in real life. One particular dream I had back in May 2017 still sits with me to this day; I was on holiday in Florida when I had it. In the dream I was in a relationship with a girl with shoulder length dark blonde hair; She was working at a bar I was frequenting regularly in my dream. We were absolutely besotted with each other. I love my wife, but have never felt the way I did in this dream. When I woke up I was bereft; It was as if she was real and had died. It took me weeks to get over the feelings of loss; and as I said, it still sits with me today. A few months later I had yet another dream where I was in a relationship with a girl with shoulder length blonde curly hair; We were trying to find a restaurant in the dream. Again, I was bereft when I woke, and it took days to shake.

Has anyone else here had similar experiences?

Usually when I dream of unclothed ladies, they have no face and no relation to my wife.

I am puzzled in my dream why this strange female is near me, and I wake up confused.

Many many years ago I had a similar dream, about a magically beautiful and highly idealized woman that I was in love with in an agonizingly beautiful spiritual and physical way. When I woke up I was crushed that it wasn’t real and was sad about it for some time, and even now I still vividly remember the feeling of that dream.

I don’t know why we would have dreams like this - I don’t think that actual love relationships are ever like this. There’s always going to be some bickering about whose turn it is to clean up the cat’s hairball.

This is probably/definetely the wrong place, but I came across this youtube video the other night. This guy does the usual 10 ghosts caught on film type stuff. but more british based and this was different as it was someone he knew personally who had a dream where he phoned himself.. He comes up with a possible explanation but imo its only slightly less believable than phoning yourself in a dream. Gave me the willies!

that’s genuinely quite creepy; even if it’s fake, it’s creepy

Just a snippet retained in my memory:

l’m walking down a pretty generic road, when l’m startled by a loud parp! from a vehicle horn. Annoyed, l turn towards the carriageway to find out who the annoying git is, only to see a vast steampunk/Moorcock-style bus has drawn up beside me. A bit like this, but a bus:

Its door folds open, and the driver beckons me to board. It’s not as welcoming as one might expect, as the driver is a skeleton.

Fin.

ln normal times, this might have made me rethink any plans for a bus trip today.

Had a really good one last night/this morning.

It started off with some sort of semi-apocalyptic event, government was rounding people up in busses to evacuate the scene, etc. No idea what properly happened, but they had tanks on the road and most of the side streets were blocked off with rubble to keep people from driving through. (Turned out there was a husband and wife pair of barbers that had done "something" to threaten the whole town.)

At some point, I became lucid. I usually get about 3-5 minutes of lucidity in my dreams before I wake up but this is where it gets interesting...hearkening back to my Castenada days, I remembered that if you train yourself to look at your hands in your dreams, you can *attain* lucidity.

Somehow, I learned that I could reset the counter, so to speak, if I just stared at my hands for a few seconds. I had probably 30 to 45 minutes of proper lucidity in that dream. Every 5 minutes or so, I'd stare at my hands, then continue exploring the dream.

I'm sure that anything could act as a trigger for "resetting the counter", but I'd never tried or even known I could do that. Looking forward to next time.

Incidentally, this took place in my Dream World which has been pretty consistent for the last ~25 years. There are places I want to explore more of and, most importantly, I want to sort of map out the whole place. A month or two ago, someone in another dream mentioned that there's a third continent (I'm only familiar with the two), so once I was lucid, I set out to find a map or globe. Sadly, no one had one available and I didn't think to "wish" one into existence.

I was on a bus tour for a holiday.
When it was time to get off, everyone was collecting their luggage from the front of the bus. Usually it's stored underneath.
Anyway when I came to the front my luggage wasn't there and I was wondering how I would manage during the holiday.
Then I remembered that I had my handbag so I could go and buy some more clothes.

I was simultaneously flicking through a large-format book while watching a documentary on a large screen - projected film, not video - about the 19th century railway engineer George Blenkinsop (or a name something like that), who was from the north of England. Then, along with my father, we were in Eastern Europe or the Middle East with Blenkinsop, flying over a railway that he had designed. We flew over a tunnel. I then stated to take a photograph of my father who was standing in an alcove on a railway cutting along from a tunnel; also there was the American actor James Coburn (obviously!). I then started floating upwards before I realised I'd been taught to control my floating/flying and before I drifted too far up I was able to drop myself down to earth where I landed on the grass with a gentle bump!

Bonkers.

Weird one last night. I was walking along a lane through woodland at night, and evil laughter kept bursting out in the trees around me. Someone (I can't remember who) told me "it's the vampires", and I had to make a cross with my fingers to make them go away. I haven't watched any vampire films for a loooong time, or read any vampire stories etc. Bizarre.

Last night I dreamed I had bought a cottage in a small market town. I was standing in the living room and wondering whether I could afford to have the roof removed and thatch put on, to be more in keeping, and showing friends around outside. We were looking at the incredibly tiny garden, when I glanced up and realised that there was more garden beyond, cut into the hillside, all overgrown, and with possibly even more land beyond. I was delighted and told my visitors that this meant I could keep chickens again.

We went out for a look around the town, which was busy and bustling, but I felt a slight pang that I'd had to move away from the tiny village where I currently live and know everyone. I told my visitor that they would have to show me around, as we walked down a road with an antique shop and a road crossing.

I have absolutely no idea where this was or why I should dream about moving house. Even in the dream itself I was a little confused about why I'd moved house!

I had a weird dream experience last night that was new to me - an action sequence that definitely began within a dream and continued through waking up.

Background: This occurred at the very end of my first sleep cycle - approximately 90 minutes after going to bed and dropping asleep. My bedroom environment was in "sleep lockdown" configuration - i.e., I could not hear my central phone unit ringing in another room, but I would hear the speaker on the phone unit beside my bed if a caller left a message. This is critical to verifying the dream-to-wakefulness transition.

I was in some sort of mundane dream where I was idly examining some papers. The phone (my actual phone) rang, and (in dream-state) I opened my eyes to my darkened bedroom. I rolled over, picked up the handset from bedside and croaked, "Hello?". It was a female caller with a familiar voice I couldn't immediately ID as one of a handful of female friends / colleagues. She apologized for calling at that hour, but had a pressing time-critical question for which she needed my opinion.

The in-dream context was that we were fellow members of a group or organization (my presumption was that it was a certain scholarly society in which I'm a life member and for which I'd authored the by-laws). She wanted to ask my opinion about re-starting some sort of annual recognition event or activity (contest; competition; award) that hadn't been done or observed for a while. She wanted to know whether it was possible to resurrect the thing and what needed to be borne in mind in relaunching it.

I was groggy, and my voice was somewhat choked / croaky. I made some comments about whether it should be a new event versus a resurrected old event, how it should be announced, and how to schedule its course and culmination so as to either (a) fit the schedule of the prior version in the resurrection option or (b) not clash with other organizational events if it were to be a totally new thing. About the time I'd worked my way to this point in my impromptu micro-lecture I realized I no longer heard her listener responses (e.g., "uh-huh").

I stopped and asked if she understood the last thing I'd said. No response. Still laboring with a choked / croaky voice I then asked "Hello?" a couple of times to see if the connection was broken. No response. At that point I repeated my last point and suddenly realized I was lying in bed in my Real World dark bedroom physically speaking out loud without any phone in my hand.

The transition from dream to reality had been smooth and continuous, with no breaks. There was no phone in my hand, and a check of the home configuration and phone logs proved there'd been no incoming call. The fact I'd answered a ring (rather than waking to a message being entered) proved the initiation of the conversation had been within a dream.

I've had passive perceptions (e.g., a scene; a sound) persist long enough through the hypnopompic phase to linger and dissipate upon opening my eyes, but I'd never been proactively engaged in an action that began in a dream and continued into the waking state.

For the record, I have no history of sleepwalking or physically acting out while dreaming.

I had a weird one that I'd like to put here for posterity....

This morning (4/27/2021) I fell back asleep and dreamed of a place that I've been to many times in my dreamworld. Apparently, all that time I had never looked in one direction, for there was a beautiful mountain looming in the distance. Gray, snow-capped peak, etc. There were other mountains in the distance, just behind and around that one.

In the dream, the mountain suddenly erupted as a volcano. It was really neat to see and I noticed a huge mushroom cloud of ash and debris fill the sky, then the lava started bubbling, followed by another large explosion (and second cloud, this time with "volcano lightning").

I ran around yelling, "Mt. St. Helens is erupting again! Look! Look!".

I was later in a Jeep with a friend and I smacked my head and said, "I know that's not Mt. St. Helens; it's either Mt. Hood or Mt. McKinley!" Then we were discussing whether or not to leave town just to be safe. I said yes, she said no. I awoke soon after.

Last night I had an odd dream in which I was getting text messages from my Brother, and then my parents (who are actually both dead) were telling me that my Brother is dead. Which I then asked how could I get text messages from him? It was all rather confusing.

I had a strange one last night , felt like I was getting bitten by rats on both hands ( on the fingers actually) simultaneously. I was in the house I grew up in , in the dream. Rats were jumping about all over the place and we couldn't catch them.

The CIA were going to appoint me as an agent/contractor.

I reckon it's because I'm reading Attack Surface by Cory Doctrow.

Neopolitan Ice Cream. My youngest son begged me to buy him some, then he just ate the chocolate bit like Homer Simpson. I woke myself up uttering the words “no, I’m not buying any more for you to just eat the chocolate again”

I looked up my rat bite dream.
It said I need to be wary of someone who is a dodgy rat basically.
It came true.

I will pay more attention to these dream dictionary / prediction sites in future.
