The cat may have attacked the clock when suddenly scared out of it's wits causing damage to it's workings but that wouldn't explain it flying across the bedroom though. Cats don't like being woken up suddenly as Ms Me found out when she picked up sleeping Cat2 and having it's teeth go through an artery as a reaction. Never seen so much blood on the floor and everywhere.
