Strange Deaths

Constipated girl Emily Titterington from Cornwall died because care was resisted
A 16-year-old died from chronic constipation because either she, or she and her parents, resisted the care she needed, a coroner has said.
Emily Titterington had not been to the toilet for three months when she suffered a cardiac arrest at home.
An inquest heard the condition was so bad that some body parts had been displaced, including her diaphragm.
The Coroner for Cornwall concluded the cause of death was "natural causes contributed by psycho-social factors".

Summing up, Dr Emma Carlyon said it could have been prevented.
"Something went wrong with the patient-parent-professional triangle which meant she did not get the care she needed," she said.
Paramedics described their "shock" at Emily's "grossly extended abdomen" when she collapsed at St Austell in February 2013 and said she was "vomiting faeces".

The inquest was told that Emily, who was home-educated, had a history of constipation that could be linked to her anxiety and mild autism.
Her sister Hannah Herbert raised concerns about the impact "parental anxieties" had on her, and said she had warned social services "something terrible might happen" the year before.
Her brother-in-law Brian Herbert told the inquest Emily's decision not to be examined or go to hospital would have been influenced by the fact her parents "could not cope" with that.
However Emily's GP, Dr Alistair James, said her mother Geraldine Titterington had tried to persuade her to be examined and he found no evidence of safeguarding issues.

Consultant paediatrician Dr Paul Davis said "self-neglect" played a part in her death but she should have been persuaded to go to hospital.
A serious case review by Cornwall Council's Safeguarding Children Board has made several recommendations including that agencies share concerns raised by a family member.
Dr Carlyon said she was satisfied "most of the recommendations have been actioned and embedded".

An American man famed for dressing up as Batman and visiting sick children in hospital has died after he was hit by a car in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Police said Leonard Robinson's car had broken down in the fast lane of a major highway when the incident occurred.

He was struck by his own "Batmobile" after another car careered into it.

Robinson, 51, rose to fame in 2012, when a video went viral of him being pulled over by police because his car had invalid number plates.

He's not dead though.

He is now!

Tomorrow's newspapers handling it in the classiest of fashions I see. Particularly The Sun with their Photoshopped image to add fake gunfire coming from the killer's eye view shot.

I keep seeing this story in the paper and can't make head nor tail of it. No one knows what they were doing in the hotel when their home is just a few miles away, never mind how they both came to be found in a corridor dying of their injuries. It's really weird.

This has got to be one of the strangest cases I have ever heard of.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-bizarre-scam-turned-family-against-them.html

It seems they, along with their son/brother, fell victim to a con-woman.

Yeah, I was reading about it in the paper this morning, it's a particularly vile case of manipulation resulting in madness and death. You could hardly believe something so extreme could result from what sounds like a pathological liar, but it did. Very disturbing.

A man has died after he was buried alive by road workers who failed to notice him lying unconscious in a pothole.

Tragic Latori Barman was walking home from a fair in Katni, India, when he fell into a large hole in the middle of the road on Friday night.

The 45-year-old was knocked out and slumped at the bottom of the hole, but workers failed to spot him and began pouring hot road surfacing material over him.

Eric Blore
23 December 1887 - 02 March 1959
An English comic actor. Blore was born in Finchley (now part of London), England. He worked as an insurance agent for a time. He gained theatre experience while touring Australia. Originally enlisting into the Artists Rifles he was commissioned in the South Wales Borderers in World War I. Eventually he appeared in several shows and revues in England. In 1923 he went to the United States and began playing character roles on Broadway. His death caused an unexpected stir, quite independent of his fame. The British critic Kenneth Tynan, writing for The New Yorker, had recently made a mistaken reference to "the late Eric Blore", and this error passed by the normally vigilant checking department. When Blore’s lawyer demanded a retraction, the editor had no choice other than to refer this demand to Tynan, pointing out in a fury that this was the first retraction ever to appear in that uniquely authoritative magazine. In disgrace, Tynan prepared a major apology, to appear prominently in the next issue. On the eve of publication, when the edition was printed and ready for delivery, Blore dropped dead. So next morning, the daily papers announced Blore’s death, while The New Yorker apologised for any insult to Mr. Blore’s feelings through their erroneous report of his demise.

Air India ground crew worker sucked into jet engine and killed instantly
'During the pushback, the co-pilot mistook a signal for engine start'
Samuel Osborne

A member of Air India's ground crew has died after being sucked into a plane engine at Mumbai airport.
Ravi Subramanian was sucked into the engine after the co-pilot of Mumbai-Hyderabad flight 619 mistook a signal to start the engine.
The aircraft was at a parking bay at the airport's T2 terminal and was preparing for departure to Hyderabad.

An Air India spokesperson told the Times of India: "During the pushback, the co-pilot mistook a signal for engine start. As he switched on the engine, it sucked in the technician standing nearby."
It is unclear how the technician came to be so close to the engine.
"The body is still stuck in the engine, efforts are going on to retrieve it," an airport official told the Hindustan Times.

There's a mystery here, but what kind of a mystery is not yet clear:
Scottish police investigate death of Sussex cricketer Matthew Hobden
Police say death of 22-year-old fast bowler in northern Scotland, miles from his home in Sussex, is being treated as unexplained
James Meikle
Sunday 3 January 2016 16.58 GMT

The sudden death of a 22-year-old country cricket star in a small Scottish town hundreds of miles from his Sussex home is being investigated by local police.
Matthew Hobden, a Sussex fast bowler and England prospect, died in the Forres area on the northern Scottish coast on Saturday, Police Scotland said.

“The death of the male, who is believed to be from the Sussex area, is currently being treated as unexplained,” a statement from the force said. “Enquiries are at a very early stage but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal as is usual procedure.”

England’s test team, playing South Africa in Cape Town, wore black armbands as a mark of respect following the death of a player who was regarded as a future international prospect.

Fellow professionals, including Ian Bell, Eoin Morgan, and Paul Collingwood, were among those who mourned his loss. He had been named in the fast-bowling group for the Potential England Performance Programme late last year.

Kevin Shine, the lead fast-bowling coach of the English and Wales cricket board, said: “As a player, I remember, the first time I saw him, just thinking ‘wow’. He was the strongest, most powerful cricketer I’ve ever seen on that programme – up there with elite athletes from different sports. His potential was huge, he was improving rapidly and I’m certain that he would have played for England.

“But for all that, my overriding memory of Matt will be of his character: he was a wonderful lad. It’s devastating for all who knew him to have lost him so young.”

Another young cricketer dies:
Tom Allin: Former Warwickshire bowler dies aged 28

Former Warwickshire fast bowler Tom Allin has died at the age of 28.
Allin, who played one first-class match and one List A game for the county before leaving in 2013, also represented Devon and Cardiff MCCU.

Police said Allin was found at the base of a bridge near Bideford on Monday. They are investigating the circumstances of his death but are not treating it as suspicious.

Warwickshire described Allin as "incredibly popular".
He spent six years at the club, who added in a statement: "Everyone at Edgbaston is immensely saddened."

Following the police investigation a file will be passed to the north Devon coroner.
Allin is the second cricketer to die in a matter of days, following the death of Sussex bowler Matthew Hobden at the age of 22.

Mark Ansell, chairman of Allin's league cricket club North Devon CC, said: "Everyone at the club is devastated by the news of Tom's death.
"He was a great guy and this has come as such a shock. The players at the club are numbed by what has happened. They met up on Tuesday night to support each other."

Once is happenstance, twice is concidence, ...

Hobden's family have said he died 'celebrating New Year', but with no further details.

Happily I can report that not all cricketers die young:

"A former England cricketer visited a Falmouth man to celebrate his 100th birthday with him.
Chris Old, who played for England for eight years, including the Ashes victory at Headingley in 1981, spent the afternoon at Langholme care home for resident, Harry Stephen's centenary birthday party." :)

Matthew Hobden: Police probe whether Sussex bowler 'fell off roof'

Police are investigating whether Sussex bowler Matthew Hobden was asleep on the roof of a building before falling to his death.
The 22-year-old was found dead at a private property in the Forres area of Scotland on Saturday, 2 January after celebrating the New Year with friends.
His cause of death remains unexplained and Police Scotland told the BBC there are no suspicious circumstances.

The Mirror claims Hobden and other guests were star-gazing on the roof.
It said one line of police inquiry was that Hobden fell asleep and became disorientated when he woke, before he fell to his death.
Post-mortem tests have taken place and a file has been passed to the Procurator Fiscal.

I have kin there masell! Not everyone likes them, however. I have often heard people cry,

"Your Forreskin - mingin', mon!"

I could have my Forreskin taken away, just for being too tight but I happen to think that is just a wicked
stereotype! :D
