Sunflower field owners ask visitors to stop taking nude photos

The owners of a sunflower field in England are pleading with visitors to stop stripping down to take nude photos in public view.

Siblings Sam Wilson and Nette Petley, owners of Stoke Fruit Farm on Hayling Island, said they had to put up signs asking guests to refrain from public nudity after six incidents of naked photo shoots occurred since the sunflower field opened to the public last month -- including three incidents in a single day.

They'll have to turn it into a 'Moonflower field' - it'll be a bit more discreet.:sneaky2:
*P.S. Moonshining could take on a whole different meaning!

Escaped 'wolf' spotted in Dublin Park...
Not really!

Even from that blurry pic, I would say it is a German Shepard dog. And according to residents of the area, it is.

It seems they've a bit more unusual news to be concerned about than that of the escaped Lizard. . .

'String of deaths at Japan's Lake Biwa.'

Not so unusual. People are not aware of water safety. Don't drink and swim (one victim) and don't go beyond the area marked by buoys (3 victims).

I live near Lake Erie and depending on where you are swimming, the one port closest to me (and I have swam in) has an undertow if you get into the wrong area.

I have also swam in lake areas that do have a sudden drop off, or the area closest to the beach has a sandbar which then suddenly drops off.

You should be familiar with where you are swimming, and, if not, keep more vigilant about where you are in the water and the water conditions (rough, waves etc)

Yes, it seems pretty obvious that what's lacking is more life guards and warnings where it matters most.

/ if Ghost Bridge wasn't haunted before, it's going to be now

Cowlitz County sheriff’s deputies responded at 1:12 p.m. to the bridge that crosses the Lewis River, known as the Ghost Railroad Bridge.

Deputies determined a southbound Amtrak train struck a person who was walking south on the bridge. A witness reported the person was trying to save a dog that was on the tracks, when they were struck, a Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office news release states.

Not sure how to characterize this phenomenon. It seems almost poltergeist-like. But it is suspected there is something awry with the utility pipes.

Mysterious rumblings in the night shake homes on Auckland's North Shore

With the first bit of sound in the video which captures the banging, it does seem to be caused by mechanical means as the momentum of the hammering sound is much faster than a person would normally be able to keep up.

Mystery totem pole appears on coastal path in south-east England.

A 2.4 metre carved wooden totem pole, thought to represent Perkūnas the hammer-wielding Lithuanian God of thunder, has appeared on a cliff-top along the North-Downs way in Kent.

In Russian and general Slavonic folklore, it appears that a post like this can mark the gateway to the "domovila", the House of the Dead, as a gateway to the Next World. Just saying. Do we have a dedicated thread on this (the Kent totem pole) yet?

Cocaine Raccoon Terrorising Portland?

There is a sudden increase in aggressive raccoon attacks in Portland this August as well as an increase in overdose deaths.

Hmmm...

Raccoons increase in a city where there is lots of free scrap food and abandoned buildings.

Portland has numerous abandoned buildings from the high taxes and 140-day straight riots that occurred in the pandemic. This brought Oregon office occupancy rate nearly 30% below the national average making Portland a haven for raccoons.

Portland has miles of homeless camps and former camps littered with food waste that raccoons love. Since Portland is one of the drug capitals of the nation and has decriminalized cocaine, the City has plenty of hard drugs left around for raccoons to discover.

So-far, it seems that no-one has stepped forward to give any factual explanation to the reason behind positioning it there.

Delta flight forced into emergency landing by passenger’s diarrhea: ‘This is a biohazard’

It was a crappy situation.

A Delta flight from Atlanta to Barcelona was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing after a passenger “had diarrhea all the way through the plane.”

The Airbus A350 aircraft was two hours into a transatlantic flight from Georgia to Spain on Friday when the pilot asked to come back because of the fecal fiasco.

“This is a biohazard issue,” the pilot said to air traffic control.
