Most Haunted: Bumper Compendium Thread

Does anyone remember the name of the episode when Richard Felix thought he saw a Boggart?

Was it a Most Haunted Live episode?

Most Haunted's Yvette Fielding's dead dad sent message that left her breathless

Yes really - and here it is.

Yvette communicates with the dead regularly on camera, as well as privately. She often connects with her father, who passed away 15 years ago from a heart attack, through tapping sounds. “When Covid happened, I was really upset and couldn’t stop crying. My dad came through and tapped out a message: ‘Please don’t cry. Everything will be alright. I’m with you always.’ It took my breath away. I ask him for advice sometimes and he gives it to me.”

Good of her to keep us informed. I was worrying.

I always wonder how the dead know the future, I mean a lot of them supposedly don't even know they're dead. Or perhaps they're saying "Don't worry you'll be dead yourself soon enough then either; Everything will be OK." Or "Your troubles will really begin."

..on Most Haunted wasn't it a simple '2 taps for Yes, 1 tap for No?'

Must have taken her dead dad an eternity to tap out that message and have it translated from Morse code
She hasn’t detailed how exactly the tapped messages work, possibly because they've never happened.

Quote from Yvette Fielding...

“Throughout the history of Most Haunted we often face accusations that we’re making it up. If very little happens, people say the show is boring. You can’t win either way.

But we have 78 completed episodes of Most Haunted sitting on a shelf that have never been shown anywhere. They are just too boring to watch.”

I'd actually be pretty interested in watching those 78 episodes..even for the history component (and Derek!!). Would be great as bonus material on a comprehensive Blu-Ray/DVD release.

It's a problem faced by many TV shows. Time Team has a 'most boring digs' collection of excavations where nothing much was found and they are quite amusing for the sight of Sir Tony trying to galvanise enthusiasm for the single piece of dateable pottery that was the sole find, on Day Three. They are interesting watching more for the way things are gone about and the investigational rigour rather than the findings, which I would suppose to be the case in the Most Haunted situation... Although maybe not the investigational rigour part.

Yeah. In a strange way the lack of evidence would actually add more integrity to the show.

I don't think our team's Youtube channel even reached 100 subscribers. We didn't 'sex up' our videos either and there's a lot we didn't publish because next to nothing happened in them.

I was having this same chat with someone last night as we were driving away from a location. We both agreed that the best approach to investigations is to shut up, put the equipment down, sit completely still and just listen instead. That would make for a very boring to watch video for people with a limited attention span but the alternative viewing experience would be investigators/performers like Zack Baggans jumping up and down, show boating for the camera and using SLS etc for 'thrills and chills'.

This is the thing though, ghost hunting isn't ever going to be exciting and view worthy, simply because so often nothing happens for hours. Unless it's edited to within an inch of its life, and even then if it was a quiet night you could end up with hours worth of film that you can't really use. Most YouTubers post regularly, the successful ones once or twice a week - without....massaging the occasion somewhat most ghost hunters aren't going to have anything to show that often.

...I wonder what the mediums came up with on these 78 unwatched Most Haunted episodes? Surely that in itself would be of interest?

I’d compare it with wildlife filming for rare animals in remote locations - snow leopards for example. Often, hours & hours have to be spent before getting something. No-one wants to see 78 hours of nothing happening but all that has to be made clear is the amount of time spent before something does.

I think anyone can accept that ghosts aren't going to appear on call.

I've said it before here but genuine ghost investigations are akin to going fishing in a lot of ways. They're not entertaining to watch unless your there and involved in them.

A highlight of our invest last night was me going back into a room I'd only been in about 5 minutes before but now there was a large puddle of water in the middle of the room with no water marks on the ceiling. I went back to our team, told them what was there and asked them if anyone had been in the room. One of the girls said "That was me. I went for a piss." .. so we all had a laugh over that.

Someone should do a spoof fishing show made in the style of a sensationalised Youtube or maybe Most Haunted episode: Dramatic opening music with a few fishermen walking towards the camera, pouting in goth'd up clothing and in slow motion .. a digitised arial opening shot .. establishing interviews with locals about age old rumours that fish have been experienced in this lake by credible witnesses standing next to the lake in daylight then the action starts in night vision with three replays per ripple anytime a float wobbles or goes under water. That sort of thing. I wouldn't watch it but if anyone wants to steal my idea, hurry up before I change my mind and make a mini episode. Which is unlikely.
