Suggestions About Re-Organisation: Move & Merge Requests

I would like to point out a my website page where I talk about lightning stones.
Now I have found the treadhs "Thunder and Lightning Myths" and "Lightning Strikes" but they seem unrelated to the target.
I'm talking about those stones that Fort discusses in the second chapter of "The book of the damned":

"Lavoisier's analysis "absolutely proved" that this stone had not fallen: that it had been struck by lightning.

So, authoritatively, falling stones were damned. The stock means of exclusion remained the explanation of lightning that was seen to strike something—that had been upon the ground in the first place."

Where must I put it?

I thought it was my imagination, but realized that it isn't. These two threads are so alike that they might be merged? I never know which one I am posting in but have apparently posted in both.

General Vs IHTM.

No doubt that distinction is trifling, but general policy is not to merge IHTM threads and let them evolve organically.

I do know that IHTM threads are not merged. I didn't know the one thread was IHTM. That just goes with my confusion of which thread I'm on.

We got a bit tired of deleting non-deaths, non-falling deaths and non-Russian related deaths.

I just took a look and eleven out of the twenty-four posts on the final page have been deleted for one or more of the reasons above.

Have some sympathy for us.

I even empathise with you! I hope Stu hasn't fallen out of a window!

Why is the Mainstream News thread locked?
It seems like a handy one to have for non-Fortean items, instead of starting new threads all the time for every little topic.

Because people kept introducing politics, so it was easier for the mods to leave it locked.

Or This?

The latter was an announcement, not a discussion thread; the former some weird general remnant.

I was referring to the second one you mention - (I didn't even know we had the other one).

Edit: Stu does say this though - This forum is strictly for the discussion of items in the news that have no Fortean angle.
(I think he means thread, not forum).
