Suggestions About Re-Organisation: Move & Merge Requests

Quick conference decided to keep these separate: there's a clear and useful distinction in topic, assuming members are able to observe it.
I nearly fell victim to this yesterday when I duplicated @Min Bannister 's post on new hedgehogs in the wrong thread (Which I then deleted) The only potential problem is that some general articles like that one include both categories. I think one of the new hedgehogs was elevation from sub species to species, which could be classed as "disputed".
Doesn't happen often, perhaps a case for duplicating the post in each thread? I can see the reason for keeping them separate.

Actually, it was both of these postings that made me notice the two separate threads. I did think there was probably enough distinction to keep them separate, but the thread titles made me look twice:). I think, in retrospect, that it was the thread titles that I found slightly confusing.

I have a thread request please :) We have spun off an interesting but totally off-topic tangent re. naming conventions and etymology in various world cultures in the sodding Jimmy Savile thread (about 90% of p.73). I think as a thread topic it has usefulness. Please could we have a thread? Pretty please :)

As mentioned in the last Thylacine post I made, I struggled to choose which thread to post it on, as the Tassie Tiger has around 20 threads dedicated to it.
I know you guys are very busy, but a degree of consolidation would be appreciated!

A case of parallel evolution? Both threads effectively cover the same ground, started within a few months of each other, and have survived in spite of each other for over a couple of decades. It may be too complex to merge them now - but just flagging it:

Fortean Themed Songs & Albums.

Fortean Music.

They were supposed to be distinct, but I've merged them as that distinction broke down.

I've merged a few, but the rest will have to wait.

I've merged at least half of them into this compedium thread:

https://forums.forteana.org/index.php?threads/the-thylacine-tasmanian-tiger-or-wolf.65506/

Please post links to other fair candidates for inclusion.

Another, imperfectly delineated of course, is supposed to be for actual sightings and debate over them:

The last of them is consequence of this rather uncomfortable yoke of two subjects:

Not exactly what this thread is about, but there's a new mis-titled thread in the Mainstream News Stories area: Being Whistle-Blower Found Dead should be Boeing Whistle-Blower Found Dead. Probably best to fix it before someone starts a parallel thread.

Fixed.

Thanks. In future situations like this it's no problem to fix but a link to the relevant page would be very helpful.

Sorry. I was a bit under the weather when I posted this. Normally I'd include a link.
Not a problem, as it was a new thread it was easy to spot. The search engine does not include the main stream news so if it had been an older thread it might have been harder to find.

Two very closely-related threads about precognitive dreams/dreaming of the future:

https://forums.forteana.org/index.php?threads/dreams-that-seem-to-predict-the-future.40108/
https://forums.forteana.org/index.php?threads/dreams-of-the-future.10260/

Could maybe be merged into the main active thread on this subject? - https://forums.forteana.org/index.php?threads/think-you-may-have-dreamt-the-future.61780/

Edited to add - I had trouble finding the main thread 'Think You May Have Dreamt The Future?' as it was in the 'IHTM' subforum - would it make more sense to have it in the 'Sleep, Dreams & Related Topics' subforum?

We have both a:

Ley Lines, thread,

and one titled:

UK Ley-Line Map.

Although the latter is based on a specific question in regard to the general subject, seems to me that it soon turns into a duplicate of that general subject.

If anyone of the appropriate pay grade thinks that they are worth merging, the dates of the latter smaller thread fit rather conveniently between posts #201 and #202 of the larger general thread. I presume that helps.
