A bank employee printed himself a $65,000 certified check which he used to buy a new BMW. It apparently never occurred to him he'd left a complete paper (and CCTV trail) demonstrating his guilt. Now he's fired and busted.

When confronted about the alleged generated check, Evans reportedly told bank officers he had drafted the check as a mistake and deleted the transaction. However, he was not able to produce the physical check.

Bank officials contacted police on July 5 to report the treasurer’s check transaction. The district attorney’s office said bank officials provided police with a copy of the check, signed by Evans.
